Dealership negotiation for leasing i7

What would be some good questions to ask?

The 7 series has a history of low residual…do u think the i7 will differ being electric?

If you’re leasing the residual is whatever Bmwfs decides it is. Dealers can mark up the money factor so watch out for that. Price? If you can negotiate off of list you will be a unicorn in this community. A good deal today is msrp and the top tier rates from BMWFS.

Bottom line is there’s nothing to negotiate. The questions to ask: what’s the residual? What’s the money factor? Oh and when can you get a production slot?

What kind of deals are you getting off MSRP for custom orders?

I got $2k off MSRP to offset the marked up MF rate, free all weather mats, and a BMW mug. This is the best you can hope for in the next 3-6 months. If you’re not in a hurry, wait until the 2 or 3 quarter of 2023. I bet you’ll be able to get between 10-15% off MSRP.

Starting to see some brokers advertise 8% off for the 760 and 5% for the i7, both at base MF. Haven't probed any deeper to verify.

5% off and buy rate doesn't sound bad at this current time ... But as someone mentioned above. I'm starting to see dealers still playing the "oh theres no inventory we are marking up $5-10K over MSRP" end up discounting 5% on other cars after some pushback.

Markets seems to be changing to the downside but gotta give it time to snag up the deals probably.

Time will tell for sure. Supply and demand will determine prices. Of course I would have liked a discount, but I have no regrets at having gotten one at MSRP.

Plan to discuss with the CA who I worked with my 8GC on and another local dealer in the next couple weeks to see where they are on discounts. Still have 3.5 months on current lease, which I could extend with an order, so if no discounts can be had now will continue to probe until down to the wire. I can live with MSRP, cannot live with markups, lol.

Keep in mind that msrp is going up in a few months. So even if you get a discount at that point, it may be the same net result

Same here.. being accustomed to 10-20% in years past, for me, MSRP in a competitive market is doable.. Mark ups ? nu uh

I noticed you're also from Canada, please do post the residuals when you get them as I'm interested but most probably, I'd assume they would be similar to the G11 figures as I'm already seeing some east coast dealers dropping the price 5-8k off msrp.

Last time I checked the residuals for the G11 back in 2021 for the LCI were the following: 24mo 41%, 36mo 33%, 39mo 31%, 42mo 29%, 45mo 27%, 48mo 25%; I wouldn't expect a lot of change unless they anticipate significantly less depreciation since it's an ev but even so, I would assume BMW Canada to adopt similar figures since we're all "used to it"

I'm jealous of these numbers to get in a G70. The G12 730 (yes, with a 4 cylinder) clocks in at US$144k. And leasing is not a thing here...all buy.
