Hello All, when I was looking at the 2024 BMW 530i redesign i was very excited about the ambient lighting in the 24 all the video's shows the cool glow bar across the interior get to the deal getting ready to cop one not one 530 i has this option everything but that and the answer as to why from sales guy
was it wasn't offered yet

so I settled for the standard ambient lighting dont get me wrong it's nice but
I wish I had of waited looking at the PIC thread looks like alot of you guys have it
is this only offered in the M60?

It's also standard in the 540xi.

It’s only offered on 540i and electric variants in the US. I actually told my SA when I initially ordered my 540i that if it came without the lightbar I likely wasn’t going to take delivery.

yeah I should have built my 530I online I didn't need 540 oh well

thanks Guys for the info. two things I'm coming from a 21 530i with the ambient on all four door I wasn't expecting this in fact when I test drive the car I wasn't even paying attention to lighting. now my issue with the ambient strip is why they didn't put this on the back doors instead they added ambient lighting to the back door handles and the floor
and they also left the cup holder out but the and for those who don't have the light bar in the cuo holder you can see the light strip there it just doesn't come on

They do no offer ambient lighting on the rear doors like the front. Kinda disappointing. The 7s don’t even get lighting on the rear doors

wait are you saying that glow bar isn't on that back doors either? I guess not interesting i just looked at some pics

BMW has a mandate to cut production costs by 25%. They’ve cheapened a lot of materials in the g60 compared to the g30.

They’re doing this across the board. Take a look at the steering wheel cover on the 2024 3 series and compare it to the 2023. It’s got to be the cheapest looking airbag cover on any current production car.

Kinda pathetic they are doing this at the same time Mercedes is raising their interior quality. Initial reviews are saying the new E-class now has better interior quality than the s-class while BMW is cutting corners on the 5

There are currently acute delivery difficulties for car parts in Europe. Tesla just had to close the large factory near Berlin for two weeks. The reason for this is the lack of batteries, which all come from China.

The problem with the light bar is a little smaller. In Germany only the 550e and M60 are currently being delivered with it. It could well be that this won't happen with the US 530i. Exception: the cars are already on the ship.
