Thanks. I just called the dealer and they said on their side they can see the estimated schedule is week 37. Can't wait.

If I am not mistaken, the 5 Series / i5 is manufactured in Europe. If your vehicle is manufactured sometime in September, when will it arrive at a dealer in NY?

Good news is my car is scheduled to build in September. Bad news is the order my dealer had was not 100% complete. I.e. - I submitted prior to the configurator being available and was advised I would be able to update it. They advised that their pre orders instantly went from no information to production status and thus I can’t change anything. It is not off by much, still a very good build just likely would have went with 21” wheels and potentially the merino leather. I am planning on leasing - so not the end of the world. Kind of a messed up process.

From my previous orders, it's usually about 4-5 weeks after production until at your dealer for delivery to owner.
~1 week from production to transport to Bremerhaven exit port
~2 weeks on Wallenius ship from Bremerhaven to eastern US port (longer to west coast)
~3 days at port VPC
~3-5 days transport from VPC to dealership

To your NY dealer would be on the shorter end of this estimate.

I followed the process last year for my M3. Different plant, different car, different time. Munich to Chicago.

Here’s the data:

•Final assembly > May 20
•Ready for transport >May 20
•Awaiting carrier assignment >May 20
•Dispatched from factory >May 27
•At the port >May 27
•In transit >June 11
•At the port >June 14
•In transit >June 27
•At the port >July 9
•In transit >July 21
•At the dealership >July 22

So about 60 days final assembly to my garage.

This is interesting. My dealer told me that about half of their pre-orders went from 112 to 150 in one day. My order was still able to be modified so I changed from Phytonic Blue to Tanzanite Blue and then back to Phytonic Blue (long story).

So it seems unfortunately you don't have an allocation yet. If you pre-ordered I would expect that you should get one pretty soon. Fingers crossed!

I don't know what the "requested production date" means though...

Are you in Orange County? I'm also in SoCal and my dealer got an allocation just this past Friday. Hopefully you'll be able to move forward soon as well.

Well with BMW these days you just have to play the guess game since everything is so vague.

This is from the 5 series US press release:

As the top model in the range, the BMW i5 M60 xDrive not only has the most powerful drivetrain, but also comes with standard suspension equipment that ensures the power of its two electric motors can be harnessed to deliver a superior performance experience. Its standard Adaptive M Suspension Professional includes electronically controlled dampers, Integral Active Steering (which allows the rear wheels to turn in or out of phase with the front wheels up to 2.5 degrees), and lowers the ride height by 0.3 inches compared to the standard chassis of the BMW i5 eDrive40. The dynamic performance, agility, and handling precision of the high-performance model are enhanced by standard 19-inch M light alloy wheels with mixed performance tires and a powerful M sport braking system.

Yep I am. Ordered it from Crevier. Sales advisor was saying he think mid November is when I’ll get the car.

My Dealer messed up my paint color but luckily i caught the issue same day after randomly reviewing every detail. He was able to change it because it’s still in 112 status. Not 150. They should be able to change it if it’s not switched to in production.

We're entering a phase where EV supply is starting to far outstrip demand in the US. EVs are already piling up on dealer lots and getting huge discounts, and it's about to get a lot worse if you look at the supply about to come online. Every OEM rushed in wanting to be the leader in the EV future, but collectively their production plans far exceed consumer adoption curve.

We've already seen $600 - $800 leases on the EQS and Audi e-tron, all with an MSRP >$110K. i5 M60 should be below that quickly.

Big dealer discounts + OEM incentives + $7500 tax credit = super cheap leases. Hoping to hop on an i5 then
Wait so your saying I can get a 110k Audi for $700 a month ? Idk

Yes I just looked back at what they sent me. It went into product started status on 7/20 and I was advised I could not change it. Looks like it was originally supposed to be produced in September.

My M60 has also entered production. It's earlier than we expected. Dealership had 8 M60's and mine was the first to go into production. Not exactly what we hoped since we were planning on Oct/Nov for the purchase. Might have to find someone else to take this and I'll take a later build week. Then again it can get held at the port. My i4 M50 was built the first week of Feb 2022 and sat at the port, wasn't able to take delivery until mid April 2022.

So my i5 also just entered into production queue... is it really starting even though my confirmed built week is week 36 (first week of September)?

Kinda crazy to think the car is going into production and the Canadian configurator is not even live yet...

I ordered my i5 early last month.
Here in Europe we don't have that possibility that you guys in the US have to track the status of the order (as far as I know).
Orders are placed with the intervention of a BMW representative in the country. He is the one who places the order in the system according to our instructions regarding configurations. It is also with this seller that the price is agreed, the more vehicles the person (or company) has, the greater the discount.
