Would look great on the showroom floor and bet we’ll get a few as dealer demo.

Not many other new color options unfortunately except the run of the mill grays and blues

Crazy that Multi-Contour is going away. It's a beloved option that gives you the feeling that you're in the upper echelons of the BMW family. Sad.

On a related note, it's nice to see that Carbon Black isn't going anywhere -- this has been a 5-Series (and up) staple for a LONG time...

Carbon black was offered on E46 M3 and E39 M5 back in early 2000’s.

Regarding multi-contour seats, the US ordering guide from the other thread shows it's optional for i5 e40 and standard for M60. Is this not the same thing as what you guys are talking about?

I’ve tried the multi contour in recent generation cars and there is no doubt they are an improvement over the regular seats. But to me, the most comfortable seat BMW has made was the E60 multi contour (comfort seat option), which also had softer cushioning on the bottom part. That seat would feel like a cocoon.

It was so relaxing on road trips, I’d pop out of the car after 5 or 6 hours feeling actually rested. Anyway, no use crying over spilt milk.

Curious to try this new version.

That seat design is much improved from the iX. If they carry over most of it to the i5, you will be in good shape, otherwise, good luck.

BMW is now only offering "Multi-FUNCTION" seating
This isn’t true. Your 7 has 20 way adjustable seats. Hit the seat “burger” (seat symbol with 3 lines) button on your driver or passenger door. It pops up seating configuration on CID. Click the circles and press the arrows to move those parts of the seat. Set to memory, check the box for “comfort adjustment” and you’re good to go.

Shows as an option on both i5 and 530i order guides on luxury seating package costing $1000ish

They may be calling them multi contour though we may lose some adjustability. Hard to tell, someone should review if they get access to the car with the option.

Last year I ordered my 2023 540i as soon as my dealer got an allocation, where I was the first one in line. I just had to keep the physical HVAC buttons. After 7 months and 3 days, I picked it up four months ago.

Looks good! Is the 7 month wait typical on a special ordered G30?

Mostly because of the special order color, from BMW Individual, is what added extra time. Also, when the pending order was placed on July 6 of last year, there still were some logistical snags (i.e., chip shortage, etc.) which delayed some orders as well.

Ordered the multi contour seats with mocha nappa leather on my G30 540i and this is now a must-have option, replacing the sport seats as must-have.

I cancelled my order today, no adaptive suspension on the I4 E40, and BMW can't tell me the setting on the suspension, I will wait until I can test drive the car to decide. Currently driving and I4 E40 loaded, and I am not 100% I want to go electric again, I will only have one car and electric is a not the best option for long road trips.

I've honestly not had terrible long road trip experiences. iX M60 get over 300 miles on highway with 100% charge. I've driven NJ to Myrtle Beach area several times. My mother has i4e40 in Myrtle Beach area and has done the same road trip to/from my house on I95 with no reportable issues.

EV isn't terrible for road trip, just adds some required charging planning and of course the mandatory 30 minute charging stops.

Just picked up an i7 x60 that replaced the X5 45e, plan to road trip that as well.

I suggest using ABRP (A Better Route Planner) app / website to assist in planning your charging.

I cancelled mine a few days after placing a day 1 deposit. Ultimately M60 range is pathetic (xDrive a MUST in NorthEast winters) and not loving the totality of the options. Jury still out on the overall design for me as well.

Just ordered

Ordered the eDrive40 a week ago and met with the dealership yesterday to finalize the order. Oxide grey with verganza espresso interior. Executive package and ventilated front seats. Looks fantastic! Can't wait to get this. Moving on from a Hyundai Ioniq 5.

Also seems like the lease payment estimators on the BMW USA website have been fixed and are generating much more reasonable payment estimates.
