BMW i5 US Order Banks Are Open. What Have You Ordered?

Dealers just received their emails. Customers will be able to Pre-order starting May 24th 8 AM EST.

Updated:

Two i5 model variants will be available for preorder.

Each dealer will get 1 allocation in addition to their preorders in time for market launch in October.

Order bank will open in June and at that time BYO will be available. BYO will also mark the end of preorder sales.

Go get ‘em!

I asked my dealer, he told me that pre orders will open at 8 am May 24 in the BMW website, they will be handled like the I4. Place order and deposit trough BMW and select a dealer, after the bad experience with I4 orders I expected a different method, but we will find out on the 24 th

What models are ready for pre-order?

Seems like the vehicle will be unveiled the day before in continental US time zone.

so, does that mean the model will be revealed morning time in the US? or pre-orders will open first and whenever they do the unveiling in Germany Time Zone is when we get the information too?

i believe its 8am est for us on the 24th.

What pricing are you getting from the dealer? MSRP or it’s basically up in the air at this point?

Can you withdraw your pre-order and get deposit back if the delay is too long?

Placed my Pre-order once I got to München around 10:45a ET / 16:45 CET…. ~9400 on the list. M60…. Planning to upgrade from an i4 M50.

Did your SA share the order guide with you? If yes do you mind sharing with us?

I placed the order at 8:03am and my number is ~9,250. I wonder if it starts from 9,000. My SA has not reached out to me yet.

No ordering guide. Just order bank options.

This is great. Really appreciate it!

Seems no sophisto grey or cape york green as color options. That helps me narrow down color options to fire red or phytonic blue.

according to that snapshot, there is room to scroll down more. so it might just be hidden. additionally i think fire red is coming out later in the year?

and sophisto grey is dark graphite metallic here in the states which is listed in the picture.
