Not all of those status items are from BMW. I took the ones they provided on the web page and then added some of my own since I was following the ship my car was on separately. For example, they don't tell you what port the car is in, just that it's at "the port". They also don't track anything through the canal, etc. I just added those for my own amusement. I'm nerdy that way I guess. You can see the official status messages on the web page once you put in your production number.

There are several east coast ports. If you look at the top of the build sheet your dealer sent, you should see the port. For example, BALPOA = Baltimore.

Sometimes Dealers will let you do that as long as you are trading up as long as they can still recondition and sell the current one for a profit. I know people who have done that. Never hurts to ask.

In Poland, the crystal strip is supposed to return in November, but it's not certain, so it probably won't come back. My brother got a BMW 5 Series 530e two months ago, and unfortunately, the default lighting is terrible—it's downright outdated for today's standards, even compared to the cheapest cars on the market. I was also considering getting a BMW 5 Series, and from what two BMW service centers told me, it's not easy to replace the standard LEDs with the crystal strip. The wiring harnesses are different, as are the modules, and almost half of the dashboard would need to be dismantled, followed by a software update. Overall, an employee told me that the replacement would cost around 5-8 thousand euros. Unfortunately, buying these strips on eBay is just asking for trouble, unless someone needs a replacement because theirs is broken, then of course, it makes sense

Mid November is here and it is not returned as of yet. Glad I didn't choose to wait...

Finally, they made this option available for 530e PHEV (at least in Poland), but not for diesel or petrol engines. And you have to select this option explicitly, though it cost $0. By default you get "cheap" ambient lightning, but 4UR is available to choose, so be careful
