Dropped mine at the dealership this morning for this repair. Had to wait for parts from Germany. Will let all know how it goes.

Took mine in last week as well. They had no ETA on the German part, since it is apparently backordered, so I'll have to take the car back in at some point.

My car is done and ready for pickup which will be tomorrow morning. Will post after I get it back and let everyone know how it went and whether the noise is still present.

Picked up the car this morning and heard no noise on the way home, and it was hot today. Will be doing another test run tomorrow but so far, so good. Here is what the work order sheet said:
Cause: Condensate drain resonance Correction: Replace condensate drain for the A/C system. Place system in workshop mode Deactivate and lockout high voltage battery Drain cooling system Lower high voltage battery replace condensate drain with improved design Reinstall removed parts Refill cooling system with vacuum filling device Activate high voltage system |

Yeah now that we’re in rhe 90s every day with 85%+ humidity, I can report that the repair worked. I’m sure you’ll find the same!

I took my i5 to the service at the same dealer again (after I recorded a video of the noise from my i5, so this time they have reference and proof from my video), and they found noise from AC compressor, which is not the same thing described in the SIB.
They didn't want to go the SIB route cuz they insisted they have to follow protocol due to my i5 being produced in Feb 2024 (past the SIB cut off date Dec 2023)... So they could only replace the AC compressor (the part they found loud noise from), but I haven't heard the noise after I got my i5 back about week and half ago... so keep my fingers crossed. |

Finally heard it in my M60 the last couple of days, only when stopped at a light or in traffic. For those who’ve had the repair completed, can you repost what the technical name for the fault is to help me explain to my service dept.?
Thnx |

I have it too. Currently debating whether the medicine is worse than the illness in this case. Sounds like pretty radical surgery on the car.

I’m with you Mike. I’ll maybe chat it over with the service manager after I see if this thing is a regular occurrence for me.

I’ve got an appointment for this coming up. I hear the noise a lot in the hot, wet, rainy weather we’ve been having. We’ll see how it goes…

Fix is done. No dripping noises, but it hasn’t been hot and humid lately. Took two days, the work sheet is pretty extensive. I hope everything was reassembled correctly!

Oh no! That’s a nightmare.
The only time I’ve heard it now is if I’m like at a stoplight and it’s hot and humid, there might be a plonk right as I start to drive off. But not the original rhythmic stuff that was happening all the time. Can you make a video of it? S |
