Im worried this is going to cause a "boy called wolf" problem. They are making everybody evacuate and if this storm doesnt turn out too bad the next time it happens people wont leave and that when the big storm will devastate. I hope to god for the sake of everyone over there this storm weakens. This city has seen enough.

to any extent I know all to well about hurricanes. I'm From Gulf Shores, AL and had both my houses destroyed by Ivan and Katrina. I think it is a smart move by officials to get people out. I pray for all you guys that live on the gulf coast. I know Gulf Shores got evacuated yesterday.

I'm in Mobile, all my in-laws from West-Bank NO just arrived. This is going to be one miserable week for everyone from Pensacola to Houston. Possible a lot longer for the people from Louisiana. Good luck everyone. Be safe.

Best of luck to all of you stuck in the area of this storm. I hope everyone gets out safe and with minimal property damage. I've been through a hurricane myself, even as far inland as I am, but that's still nothing like being right on the coast and getting the storm at it's highest intensity.

I'm going to chill at my house in La Porte.. Why??
Because I'm tired of hurricanes and feel like skimboarding while its still flooded. -___- I also don't feel like wasting a couple of days in some random town. and.. while taking Environmental Geology I looked over a map around my area that shows the effects of a cat 5 with storm surge, and my block will end up as an island at worst.. Wish you well, hopefully this is your last hurricane season. Sit out on the porch, put on some Jimmy Buffet, drink the margaritas, and give the 1 finger salute to Gustav as he rolls by. Or not It doesn't flood at 4500 ft.....except today, we have flash flood warnings here. Go figure.
