Hey Sara, I am in Galveston right now...and very close to the water. Depending on what the weather channels say and whatnot we may be evacuating to Houston. My dad is down here with me helping me move into my room on Pelican Island tomorrow and we've booked a room in a hotel in Houston. Hopefully that will be a safe area. If not, then we will be headed up to the Woodlands, north of Houston. Wish me luck.
Where are you exactly? I am gunna be stuck in Galveston for a year. Then I'm out. |

A good friend of mine here in Dallas is from NO. He flew out yesterday to load up his mom and dad and drive them and their cats to Dallas. I have a bad feeling in my gut that it is going to intensify and hit near NO. Poor city.

OK here are the updates in my area. Currently a category 4. Hurricanes typically gain strength in the gulf due to the warm water.. Contraflow will begin at 4am, Sunday August 31st in Louisiana & Mississippi. STAY SAFE EVERYONE IN GUSTAV'S PATH!! Last edited by Sara; 08-30-2008 at 05:57 PM.. |

I bet this will be a Cat V storm before most of us go to sleep tonight. The warm waters over the gulf as well as the hurricane hunters reporting lowering pressures pretty much assures the storm will strengthen.

Shit youre telling me.. Slidell stations ran out of regular yesterday! Picayune has very little gas as well. We have about 50 extra gallons though between my house and my Aunt stocked up so we can run generators if we lose power for 3 months like we did in Katrina. STAY SAFE... whats your cell so I know you make it out alive if internet and power goes down? PM me.
