Glad to see some others with the same mindset — glad he's ok, but keep it on the track and watch the center lines on the spirited cruises.

It has a sensor that detects the amount of roll (not so much body roll as much as detecting if the car is flipping in the air) the car is experiencing and if it goes past a certain point it detonates the airbags. It measures other data as well though.

Everyone walked away, wow. New respect for the M engineers.

Glad he made it out there alive. Especially without taking someone else down with him, imagine a car coming from the other way?

It's like he'd never even driven that road before. He clearly had no idea that curve was coming or he would have most likely known how to navigate it better. What an asinine thing to do, even if you're the type to do that sort of illegal thing, you'd think at the very least you'd learn/memorize the curves in your favorite road before racing on it. I also agree with many of the above, young kids with mom and pop's money getting into these cars with no respect for what they can do and/or other drivers.
P.S. I may 'only' be 29, but get off my lawn, stupid kids. |

Glad to see everyone got out okay!
PS .... In 2005 a truck almost pushed me off the road over a cliff as I overtook him in my then 2002 e46 on a mountain road in British Columbia Canada. The e46 saved my life for it had the power to get me out off harms way in time. I put the paddle to the metal and leaned on my horn, that woke up the truck driver. I know this since I saw him in my rear view mirror trying to get his truck swaying back and forth back under control. I firmly believe my e46 saved the truck driver's and my life that day, for without that HP under the hood I and most likely the truck driver would have ended up over the rocky mountain cliff. One of the main reasons I drive the M3 it has the power to get out of harms way.

I'm speachless...wow, I'm surprised the occupants walked away from the crash with "cuts & bruises". I'd call that more "dumb luck" in not hitting a massive boulder while rolling then BMW engineering saving their lives.
