Doesn't matter if the LCD screen is broken or not. It and the glass screen are one piece. You can't replace one without the other. You gotta replace both. That's why it costs so much.

You can buy the glass from online & replace it yourself. Or some online vendors do it for far less than $150.

I've literally never had a phone besides the iPhone since they came out. It's a love hate relationship. Androids are just ugly and not user friendly.

It's not like android phones won't crack but the iPhone 5 is a pretty boring and small phone compared to other offerings today. Apple has fallen way behind and seems to be the phone of choice for old people...

Never had an issue with either and know A BUNCH of people that have had both for years.

It is all how you learn and how you use it...

I am on my first iPhone 5 and have dropped it many times (accidentally, kids playing with it, etc) and it is absolutely flawless

Was a little exaggeration if you didnt pick up on that, obviously. All that i was saying is "gorilla glass" is what they advertise and you would think that with a case it could handle more than a 2 ft drop.

Show is over folks, getting the phone fixed at apple on monday. Thanks to everyone that came out and thanks to the people that actually had legitimate advise.

Don't assume I'm talking about dropping them. They both had different issues! One would get ridiculously hot with minimal use, it caused discoloring on the aluminum on the back. The other would shut off every 15 minutes or so. A restore didn't even help that.

and i've dropped them all
never broke a screen (touch wood)

and will probably get the next iphone
5S or 6 or whatever they call it
wasn't impressed with the 5 enought to get it

carbon fiber case dude....never breaks. LMAO jk I got it from LTMWs raffle. The thing is plastic obviously and the clear coat is coming off, the original manufacturer sells it for $50 not even worth half that. Sucks though, I love my iPhone 5 (first iPhone coming from androids)

- Try Apple Care for like 99 bucks, esp. if you're not going to use a shock-resistant case. I have it (as well as a decent case), I've used it, and it's well worth it.
- Be realistic. The screen is made of glass, not rubber or cloth. What surface did the phone fall on?
