This seems a bit odd and may be part of the issue. Putting that aside...

You say you're athletic...join forums that pertain to your interests and get involved with local groups. I race bicycles (road and mountain) and I have met a ton of people that share the same interest...guys and girls. I can literally ride with a group every day of the week. It's easy to get to know people with similar interests and because it's a group activity people aren't as guarded.

Car type activities are typically a sausage fest and the girls that are around are usually just supporting their partner.

Oh, and don't try so hard...

I am with the others about trying to hard, can put people off. Maybe try yoga, meditating or something completely opposite to the running, skiing etc.

Go and see your old friends, rumours should be cleared up, don't need that shit hanging in the air.

Spend some time talking to the people you work with, too much time spent at work for it to be a lonely experience.

Get a really cute puppy, women love em, and pets can help with loneliness.

Don't PM shah, it might push you over the edge

Move out of NYC... that town is fun for about 3 days then you need to get back to reality. Unfortunately so many people live the NYC life every day. I couldn't do it.

Hey man, kind of in the same boat, girls wise. I just turned 30 and in the Indian culture you are looked as a disappointment if not married. Life sucks but you know what I know some very un athletic and not even good looking people that pull girls and have tons of friends. It's a little to do with your attitude and charisma, when you walk in a room, walk in with a confident smile. Read the Game its not only for how to mack on girls, but general confidence. It helped me a lot.

Every time you feel depressed about not having Mrs. Right, just think of those you know or here about on this forum who found Mrs. Right and Mrs. Right for some reason doesn't love you anymore. She decides to divorce you, takes all your assets, half the money your making at your high paying job, and on top of that paying her $4000 a month in alimony. At the same time your paying her she has a live in boyfriend she's bangin' and your supporting the boyfriend also that's sticking his thing in your ex woman. So think about this it could be a lot worse. Now I'm 34 not married so this isn't my circumstance, but that's what I think about. Girls can change their mind in a split second. I think you mentioned hanging with teens at the end? Dont do that. Youre ten years older than them. With that being said, go into the city. Theres a lot you can do to meet people there.

As someone suggested start small, meet up with some other auto enthusiast. Form friends, then from there you can all go into the city for a night on the town!
