You make the A4 sound likes its a pile of shit when its really not. Yes you own a BMW and at the end of the day you get out of your BMW? So whats the point? People buy different cars for different reasons. Someone may buy an Evo because of the pure power and easy mods and their goal of making more HP. You bought your bimmer for status and thats pretty much it so once again, Whats your point? |

I don't drive my car for status Dude! I own a BMW and have had three others because of the superior quality, great looks and OVERALL performance. And just because something is easy to modify doesnt make it quality. If you think all cars are on par with BMW, you should have saved yourself a few bucks and just compared 1/4 mile times.

15.40?? Holy Cow! My Mom's hyundai could whip that without her even powershifting!!
It's probably going to be much faster though in a few thousand miles. Not only because of the mechanical "break-in" aspect but because the ECN will make adjustments. Doesnt it suck that anticipated track times are never what you expect? |

Yeah it has to be the break in period hasnt occured yet because there is no way the car runs a 15.4 it should be around a 14.6-14.8....My 60ft times were horrible!!! There really is a flast spot around 2K rpms...Ill post all the info up later.........

I had al three of them. And ran/run trackdays with them. Dunno yet about the E90/E92 M3 V8 but that car will be a lot heavier on the nose because of its V8. But back ontopic.

You have to give respect to someone who beat an M3 with a 1.8 engine. Props to both of the drivers!
I agree with members that there is no reason to bash other cars just because we drive a BMW. I also don't agree with the fact that you are not just a winner just because you drive a BMW. Everybody buys a car for different reasons and not everyone can afford or justify themselves spending money on a BMW (even though 3 series is not very expensive)

But as long as your happy, that your $60,000 M3 is getting stomped on by a $36,000 Subaru, and you can still go home and be happy, becuase you driver a "bimmer", thats all that matters =]

I used to be an Audi A4 1.8T owner, and now I own a 330i. The audi is running an upgraded T28 turbo, REVO custom tune and race gas. It's pretty simple actually ... you bolt on a upgraded turbo kit to an A4, it's gonna move damn fast. Right before I sold my A4, I debated whether or not just to strap on a APR Stage III kit and be done with it. Can you say SLEEPER car?
Keeping up with M3's isn't a problem, and in the real world it all boils down to driver anyway. I don't imagine many of you do 4,500 RPM clutch drops at every light trying to squeeze out every 10th trying to match 1/4 times from the magazines. And if you do, you're stoopid |

At up to 8/10ths effort (i.e what most drivers do most of the time) the A4 is an entirely credible alternative to a 3 series. One thing reminds me of the Audi attention to detail. When you use the central locking, the locks power into place with a stepper motor smoothly, whereas the BMW is like my old Golf GTI with an electro mechanical CLUNK!! Stop the fanboys!
