If you want to see the car from a distance in a dark area, can't you just press the circled button below to turn on the lights from a distance?

I guess I’m going to have to carry the key. Does not appear to be a way to turn on pathway lighting with the app.
Thanks all. |

My pathway lighting turns on as soon as I am within Bluetooth range and I am wearing my Apple Watch. That’s about 3 parking spaces away from my car.

Hmm - my headlights don’t come on, just my “halo lights” or whatever we’re calling these things, these days.

If a dark night, I may try to remember my actual key fob to be able to trigger pathway lights. Thanks Andrew |

With the vehicle locked, I just approached with my phone 30ft. away in my pocket and only the carpet lights and interior light came on. I do NOT have the feature for the car to auto-unlock when I approach it so the headlight/tails didnt come on.

Hey everyone!
Sorry to reboot this thread but I am not a month into owning my G61 and I love it. An update is that I have the Lighting animation package from the app store and i still have no idea how I can get the puddle light to be cross hatched or to project an M like Airedale. But never mind. I have got an annoying squeak on my steering wheel though. It is when I press volume down, the button to change the driver display (the cog in brackets) or the call button. Basically the three buttons on the left of the right hand steering spoke. Whenever I press them there is a really cheap sounding squeak as if the plastic is rubbing on the piece of plastic that isn't moving. Does anyone have any idea where I might stand on this? It is not a huge issue but equally they are buttons you use a lot and it is a brand new car. Or is it just unfortunate? I do feel like if I could a spudger or a pry tool in the gap I could just shimmy the panel across a mm and it would fix it. But should I have to? |

My guess is that the squeak may just end up being a replacement of the wheel by the dealer if you can get the to warranty it. |

I now have 15,000 miles on my 2024 i5 M60, and while I absolutely love the car, it clearly has many annoying things.
I can't get rid of meaningless, annoying messages on my display, such as the one saying that I must immediately charge my car to 85%, despite it being at 85%. Every time I get in the car I have to set it to B for Regen braking -- why isn't their a menu where I can make that the default setting. Sometimes when I open the door to walk into the garage, the car is sitting there with all of its external lights already on, including the front kidney lights, despite me being so far away that the car is locked with the mirrors folded. Out of frustration I went though every single icon for all of their settings, as trying to do it using the owners manual was a waste of time, as the owners manual tells me to do things a certain way that aren't available on my car. I turned off the "kick under the rear of the car" to open the trunk feature, as it didn't work consistently when I wanted it to, and other times would open by me just walking past it as I went to get into the car. People at the dealership know less than I do about this model, so they are of no help. So -- a long way of saying "Don't get frustrated by the quirks of the car" -- it's just the way it is. Oh -- like the gear selector. What Einstein in Germany designed it where you push the selector forward to go backwards, and then pull it backwards to go forward? And, why do I have to listen to it make that sound like an ICE engine starting every time I start the car? I couldn't find that in any icon, and the dealership is clueless. Annoying. |
