Wouldn’t Vette, Mopar, and similar forums net you a more informed response?

I am in a similar situation, looking at the same cars you are. Sold my 335xi last year and daily driving my C6 Vette. This arrangement works, but only while I live in San Diego. Eventually will go back to a 2-car setup.
I ruled out the Challenger/Charger and CTS-V. These cars are just too much heavier than my C6 and I don't think I could get used to it. I agree that the regular Camaro SS and Mustang GT would be too common. Here's the top of my list: C7 Z51 - Minimal weight gain from last gen, but might find myself wishing I had a GS or Z06. Same size tires as my current Vette and only a minimal bump in horsepower. ATS-V - Ridiculous depreciation and great mod potential, but it only looks okay to me. Camaro 6th gen - Keep coming back to this idea. Weighs about 400 pounds more than my C6, but the performance of the SS 1LE or ZL1 would probably be worth it. Mustang GT350 - Only Mustang I would consider right now. Very unique, but performs at about the same level as an SS 1LE. |

I doubt I will pick the ATS-V. I'm a loud obnoxious V8 guy at heart. GT350 is too much of a road course car, not a stoplight drag racer, for me. The more I think about a boosted S550 Mustang or 6th gen SS (1LE is out for me since I want auto trans) the more I think I am foolish for dismissing them b/c too common. I am going to drive an S550 & see if I even like it. I did enjoy driving the 6th gen, but that was 2 years ago. |

An already modded C7 would be hard to beat. I have considered looking at a modded C7 w/mild cam. Crank horsepower would be well over 500. I also like this idea given the higher costs of modifying the LT1 vs the LS3. I've looked online at supercharged S550 Mustangs and 6th gen Camaros as well. Really hard to beat those for the money. The one issue I saw was that many of the Mustangs only had the supercharger upgrade and wouldn't be able to put the power down (even with the Performance Package). The sellers sometimes have unrealistic prices because of the money they invested in modifications though. Have you considered a ZL1? The ones with the A10 are very fast and are quickly approaching $50k used. You could probably find one with bolt-ons pretty easily, should be making over 700 at the crank. |

Who cares if it's common? Common means a lot of people found their qualities to be attractive. SS 1LE.

Classic car with a built big block, tubed rear end to house huge slicks and a blower coming out of the hood.
Since you like Chevelles I'd want a truck |

Decided it's time for something with some luxury & not on the verge of breaking or rattling my fillings out. Also decide anything with manual trans is out. Auto only. Added RS3 to the list. I'd ditch the Jetta too if I did that. I might try to find a used RS7 to drive too. Doubtful the RS7 happens unless I get lucky & find some killer deal. Do the Audi dealers still warranty cars with APR tunes?
If I end up in a vert or targa car, I'll likely sell Miata too. Having this many cars is a PITA. |

As noted, APR provides a powertrain warranty on their Plus tunes, but you'd have to go to their provider to get work done. Remember that even with a tune, a dealer will only deny warranty work if they suspect the tune directly caused the issue. So on an N54, HPFP were still covered with a JB tune. Some dealers are cool with tunes, some are total jack wagons. |

C7 was more of a pure sports car experience. More raw. More visceral. More fun. It also was faster on the track in a meaningful way. Around town the M4 with DCT would have been as fast or faster. The C7 sounded way better.
M4 was easier to live with as a DD and more comfortable. I think of it as the M4 as a fast luxury coupe. The C7 was a sports car. I miss my M2 and my C7 more than I miss the M4.
