Help me pick my next car
I'm a little all over the place. I could go fun DD & toy in one or I could toy that gets parked all winter again.
My number one concern for my next toy is it has to be fast in a straight line (Hoping for at least 11s). I also don't want to buy anything & then drop a ton of time & money modding it. Has to be factory fast or already modded by previous owner. Also, auto trans only. Short list of half the year toy so far is: -Classic muscle car (Chevelle preferred) -6th Gen ZL1 -Charger Hellcat -2014-15 F-Type V8 S -C7 Corvette -Wide body C6 Vette (Non-Z06 b/c hardtop FTL) Short list for daily driver & toy in one is: -Charger Hellcat -Boosted S550 Mustang GT -Boosted 6th Gen Camaro SS -Gen2 CTS-V -M4 -RS3 Thoughts? Suggestions? Input? Last edited by Never_Enough; 05-16-2018 at 02:38 PM.. |

Everyone is going to have their own opinions, you should buy a car that you want, and not what the public tells your to drive....

If the GC SRT is junk, I won't buy it. EDIT: I just got a lesson on the maintenance & fuel costs on the GC SRT. A lot more than I expected. I am quite sure that it's out of the running now Last edited by Never_Enough; 03-26-2018 at 03:06 PM.. |

You need to have each of those cars delivered to me for the purpose of testing each one out for 1 week each. When I am finished and have tested each car, I'll get back to you to let you know you should have gone with the AMG E63 wagon.

Buy something, not spend money on it and it go faster than 11s.... Hellcat. Oh and since you aren't modding it, the warranty is still in effect.

I'd be more concerned about long-term ownership and reliability on most of those cars than I would a modern BMW. Buying an old, used car of any origin is expensive and time consuming, but if we're comparing new vs. new, then no need to discriminate against the Germans! Of the American brands, Chevy or Cadillac would be the only ones I feel make a good, reliable car. A Ford or Jeep/Chrysler/Dodge product? Forget it! FWIW, I worked at an emissions testing facility back when I was still trying to get through college. We've also had several GM, Chrysler, and Ford vehicles in my family over the last 20 years, so I've seen a thing or two in my relatively short 31-year life. . Then, there literally are a billion ethical reasons why Ford is just a horrible, horrible company to buy a car from. You wouldn't believe some of the stories my neighbor has told me about from his time working as an engineer at ZF and Ford.
