beats me

today i wasnt supporting any team, just wanted 2 watch a good match, but instead i watched quite a good action movie

while the match was going, i started 2 support holland, they were defenetly the better team today...

van basten had many mistakes in my opinion...

so england - portugal huh??? seems interesting (since the last time it was portugal who kicked england out of the tournament)

Not a great match! A great action movie!

I'm surprised there weren't more players expelled from both sides.

non the less, Portugal won . Now, England.

I just got back from vegas, so i couldnt watch the majority of the games. And it didnt help that the ppl i went with could careless about soccer, however, i managed to watch the Mexico vs Argentina and Netherlands vs Portugal. My friends went to gamble and walk around the casino, while i posted up at the TV's w/ all the guys haha.

Anyway, the last goal by argentina was immaculate. I was in awe, beautiful. Mexico played hard, but in the end they looked dead tired. Didnt help that they went into over time too, but i was pretty sure they were going to lose.

Portugal vs Netherlands... was this a rugby match?? I thought i saw alot of cards in the italy vs usa game but this guy was ridiculous!! The ref def let the game get out of control, and it wasnt futbol, it was a bunch of frustrated players. Anyway, i was hoping Netherlands would pull through with a goal to tie, but.. o well.

As for the Italy game, well i must say i had a looong day. I got up at 6:30am to watch the game, then at noon i headed up to vegas, didnt get to bed till 4am. I was a mess, ah..the things you do for soccer haha..

Anyway FORZA AZZURRI!! Another early morning!

We played like shit and very agressively too:mad:

Van Basten made his mistake not to put Van Nistelrooy in the field but Kuyt...

And the arbiters were a lot more blind than I thought

So, yes Portugal won.

Our cocksoccerteam didn't deserve any better: Individual stars with no teamspirit.

But hey.

GO BRASILand go ENGLAND

The Italians will beat the Aussies today.

The game hasn't started. I think Lippi will play Iaquinta and Toni up front.

My prediction

Italia 2 Australia 0.

Apperently Lippi is gonna start Del Piero behind Toni and Gilardino. Totti is on the bench. I hope he doesn't f...k it up.

Italy should make to the semis cuz they are superior to Australia, Ukraine and Switzerland. In the semis they will either play Germany or Argentina, and I think that's anybody's game, it could go either way.

wow!!!!!!!!!!! What an ending!!! A penalty shot in the 95th minute. Italy was blessed. Australia played well, and i give them props. But Grosso sold that foul and it was beautiful! VIVA ITALIA!!!

Huh, that was a close one.

Totti and Buffon saved Italy this time.
BTW what's wrong with Alex, he didn't play well at all.

I have to admit that I watched a bit of futbal this weekend...the fake injuries are ridiculous...hard to see how a real man cries like a baby... Over and over again...I haven't seen that much writhing in a Sharon Stone flick...

But you have to realize that its not just 1 player or 1 team that is consistently doing it.
I've watched many matches where the calls have gone agaisnt italy on fouls, with the other team diving or acting. And yes its frustrating, but thats life. The ref controls the game, not the player. The players do their part, and the refs should do theirs. And throughout this world cup, the refs have been worse, and so has the "acting".

Maybe the acting worked for italy this time, but maybe next time it wont.

Aren't there any rules/cards against acting?

Not really. Sure sometimes acting is obvious but other times its not. How can you really be sure?

Well you can't but maybe you can deter it if they know they can get penalized...I'd also make a rule where if you writhe around for more than 10 seconds you have to go out of the game for a minimum of 5 minutes.

I thought Italy didnt played all that well, they lost so much possession through poor ball handling and decisions. Italy didnt play like the team i would have expected...they seem overly relaxed. They were extremely blessed with the penalty and Italians knows this. I wasn't confident that Totti could do it either...

Game could have gone either way though, you know something is about to happen and unfortunately for the Austalians the ball was in the wrong half.

I hate to admit that i agree with you. I wasnt impressed with italy either. I am def excited that they won, but italy was blessed big time..last 10 seconds! Yay for italians, but disappointment for the aussie's who shouldnt have lost that way. O well, Quarter's here we come!
