Need for Speed Shift 2
Anyone got their copy yet? I'm waiting for this thing to install... taking forever.
All I have to say is that the BMW fleet better be much bigger. Last one had a E92 M3, E46 M3, I think a E30 M3, and a shitty Z4. Haven't had a chance to see the vehicle list in this game but I heard there was at least an E89 Z4. took a pic of the game case.... |

Not going to lie, Gran Turismo 5 was the worst car game I've ever played in my life, and I've played some pretty bad ones. |

its not for everyone, some people would rather crash into each other and blow shit up then have a clean realistic racing game.

I personally preferred the physics engine in Forza 3, it just feels a lot more like what I do on the track than GT5 did. IMO, Forza 3 nailed understeer, where GT5 nailed oversteer in the game. Personal opinion, of course.
Anyways, I just got Shift 2 for the PS3. Can't play it though, still working. Brought my work home with me today, just too much to do and too little time.... ![]() |

I'm not sure if I'll be getting it to be honest. I've been hearing from a bunch of reviewers that if you like Forza and GT5 for their realistic(ish) driving physics then you'll hate Shift 2. It looks like NFS gets everything but the driving stuff right.

....Hope that Dirt 3 isn't like that when it comes out. Rally racing is what first got me into cars, and at least the gameplay in Dirt 1 and 2 was solid. |

Yeah, pretty shitty, but only because it looks stupid. Looks like a driving shoe. The new E89 is hot though... they need to make an M version of that.
So far, the graphics are 999999 times better than GT5. Even the iDrive screen in the interior reflected the lighting and background real-time. Physics are way more realistic. Random particles on the ground that hit the windscreen. Full damage that affects vehicles. Night time driving. Helmet simulation, head/camera turns as you turn, etc. Actual goal to the game (instead of random game play).... reaching the GT1 championship. Customization and tuning. No elevator music. No multitude of menus. A game that doesn't take 8 years to develop. Light years ahead of GT5. UPDATE ON CAR LIST... This is what I see in-game that's a BMW. Might be cars that I can unlock, but until now, these are the only confirmed ones by me. That Google link to a car list is BS..... Alpina BMW B6 GT3 BMW 135i Coupe BMW M1 Procar BMW M3 E30 Sport Evolution BMW M3 E36 BMW M3 E46 BMW M3 E92 BMW M6 Coupe BMW Z4 M Coupe (the shoe) BMW Z4 sDrive35is (E89) |

Wow after these two posts all your credibility is pretty much down the shitter. I'm not even a huge GT5 supporter. I'm more of a Forza guy, but NFS: Shit is honestly one of the worst compromises ever in the world of driving games. I had the first title and played it for all of two weeks before raging at the laughably piss-poor physics engine. NFS can't do sims, or anything even close to a sim. Might as well be a graphically improved version of Project Gotham. The graphics are more like something you'd see in a youtube video where someone went to town with filters and After Effects. More realistic looking than GT5? You'd have to be blind or stupid to think so. More visually interesting? Sure, but I don't buy a sim with the expectation of seeing everything exaggerated; I buy a sim with the hopes of realism. With that said, NFS: Shit 2 isn't even a comparable game to any of the more serious sims. Compare it with GRID (which doesn't try to be a sim, and is way better than NFS:S) and PGR, or any of the other NFS titles.

He wouldn't understand how much better the M Coupe is to the E89.

NFS has come a long way from where it began, which was total shit. The original GT revolutionized racing simulators, and I've owned it ever since. I suppose the rest of the world putting it ahead of its competitors in retarded, and you're right? Right. This was the only funny thing you've posted ITT.

Clearly PD didn't intend for a Nissan GTR to launch itself onto a Gallardo and piggyback all the way around Daytona. GT5 is the "Real Driving Simulator", not the realistic crashing simulator

NFS is more comparable to some Midnight Club BS than GT5. Are you fucking kidding me?

Haha. I'm not into video games but I did buy a PS3 a while back for the blu ray. I recently bought GT5 and Need for sped shift. I found NFS:S more fun because it was easy to just get in and play; unlike GT5 where loading and unlocking cars takes forever. The graphics on GT5 were super realistic but NFS's arent that far off.
