thats the problem, america doesnt provide free education (post-HS) or healthcare. i wouldnt mind paying such freaking high taxes if i got it back in some way, either via subsidized higher education or healthcare like in europe.

The sad thing is that public colleges and universities in California used to be free. Until around 1970, I think. Now it costs tens of thousands a year to go, and they're more indoctrination factories than they are places of learning.

But, in Europe they make you do a stint in a civil service job to "pay back" for the free education so it all works out.

Over here in the US that wouldn't fly because some people just flat-ass don't want to work.... Can you imagine some fat American bitch driving around as an EMT, or being a member of the military, or collecting garbage?
