Tax Man

I know that our taxes are much less than other countries but it still stings when you have to pay the tax man. I could have bought a SC kit and a BBK for the checks I just had to write!

I am not sure how much less we pay. Here are a few of the taxes I pay in New York...
Federal income tax, NYS income tax, sales tax (8.625%), MTA tax (biggest bull sh*t ever), tax on cell phones, tax on cable, payroll taxes, SS, medicare, property taxes, taxes on my electric and gas bills, etc, etc. I am sure there are a dozen or so I missed. F this!

And out by me they make a lot of money! Next time around, I am going to be a Suffolk County Cop, retire in 20 years, collect an awesome pension because worked a lot of overtime in my last few years, work other jobs while on the pension. Sweet deal.

Same here... Everyday I see tons of people get pulled over in queens for no reason at all.

I'm taking my police test soon. If you can't beat em, Join em.

i always thought paying high income tax was a good thing... obviously the more (income) taxes you pay, the more money you make... up to the point where you make enough money to pay someone to look after your money so that you dont pay as much taxes anymore...
i wouldnt mind paying $ 20k a year in taxes if i was making high $$... (OP, i'm not suggesting you make too much money, or anything like that, or that paying taxes doesnt truthfully suck at the end)
well the good thing about AB is (for me, for now anyway) when comes tax time, i GET a cheque in the mail, that's nice... this year was about 10% of the price of a brand new E93
Cheers !

Married/No Kids/Currently Rent (not for too much longer though)...

Wife and I both make pretty obscene money for our age bracket.

Uncle Sam loves us like a meth addict loves an unrestricted sale on Sudafed.

When you write out checks to the govt. for 20k to 30k a year just for tax..it kinda puts you in a gumpy mood no matter how you look at it. lol

I turn 30 on Thursday... Wife is 29 until october.

I'm not going to get into the rest. Suffice to say that we don't "qualify" for any of your typical IRS deductions.

Garage List
Not necessarily "obscene". You only need to make $70K as an individual or $150K as a couple... ? Plus you live in Chicago. If that is an obscene amount, I think a lot of people here make an "obscene" amount of money.

Put your ruler away man...

All I was trying to say was that my wife and I have certainly paid more than our fair share of taxes (especially when we were living in California). I'm not commenting any further on the topic, nor am I going to stipulate what the meaning of obscene is as it relates to my income. It was an innocent remark not intended to be taken the way it was....

And to be clear I wasn't talking about people on this board. I was refering to the tax paying public in general.

This. I wish you got back at least 50% of what you put in, but I guess someone has to pay to support the lazy people of America.
