Carplay has definitely improved. I updated to iOS 18 before this update so not sure which made the most difference.

Here are a few quotes from the Fakebook link you supplied. If they have an option to disable ASS, that is a BIG plus.

This is the update that caused my G60 to stop working!

I had a software update notification on my G60 this week. I uploaded it from my app today and the car now says the update failed and won't start and I have to call roadside assistance. Has anyone else had a software update this week?

I got the notification two days ago.

Followed the same unnecessarily convoluted process that I have been following since 2021 G30 LCI, which is to download the update to my phone then bring the phone to the car and upload. Long behold after downloading to the phone now both the car and the phone say... no update available for your car.

The same exact thing happened in March too. Software upgrade appears, then disappears then again magically comes back few days later. Idrive restart or manually searching for updates while driving yield zero results. I am sure mid next week it will become available again....or not lol.

I am actually laughing at this - now you see me, now you don't - BMW software update. This is such a cumbersome, unpredictable and NOT at all seamless process. It's been like that for years - multiple steps and 30 min of driving. Why BMW? That's the best you can do?

On the bright side...I removed 05AP with bimmerlink. So let's see what happens when I finally get this release deployed. Hopefully lights will work as they were intended to work.

I just got the update notification earlier today. Began the download from the MyBmw app and then got in the car later and it asked if I wanted to download and install. Clicked "yes" and drove around for about 20 minutes and I was done. Very easy and drama-free. Can't wait to play with all the new features tomorrow.

I have an eSIM active in my car, but have not done any OTA updates yet. Once this one comes down and I try it, I'll try to remember to get back here with an update.

When you do, you should hold a clinic. Everyone in WA can come meet you and have their headlights coded (For a fee under the table of course!)

Wonder if it will work for Google Maps when using Android Auto as well? From what I understand my car will come with USA cartography installed instead of EU cartography. So BMW Maps won't work for me until I get it to the states in a couple of years. I was given the choice, but they said if I chose EU cartography I would have to pay for US cartography when I got to the states, and the update/change is like $600. I mainly use Google maps anyway here, so I said just install US maps.

I ordered the BimmerUtility ENET adapter. We will see if it gets here before I get the software update.

I will probably just chose the Windows version as my husband has a laptop in the garage for his electronic hobby.
