On the other hand, I've gotten 42 Mb/s with T-Mobile on HSDPA+. As someone already pointed out, and you've duly noted, it's all location specific. In the end, there will likely not be enough posters in this thread to constitute a statistically significant sample size, and thus all the anecdotes in this thread will probably be of little real help to the OP.

For my part, I left Verizon for T-Mobile because T-Mobile has better coverage in my area. I believe Verizon usually wins these coverage contests, and I live near a major metropolitan area, so go figure.

I live in the bay area so i think all the major carriers have good coverages here. Not too many drop calls from what I've heard from family and friends from any of the carriers.

t-mobile's signal is excellent where i live. the prepaid deal is pretty good. it really depends on where you'll be most often and what type of plan you're looking for.
