Fastest 4G speed of any network
That's the ony advantage I can think of And since I don't do many calls, but mainly text and stream AT&T is the best for me

The ONLY reason why AT&T wireless still exists is due to them being the first to carry the iPhone. They are among the worst service providers of all services based on customer/consumer feedback. Now that iPhone can be had on any carrier, there really is no need to stick with those fuks.
I was with TMobile for years and they have excellent cust service and the coverage was fine for me but is NOW much better now (Dallas area) I switched to Sprint 2yrs ago due to a 'corporate hookup' I received. They pioneered the "Unlimited Data Plan" as well as free mobile to mobile. Now that they're 4G is up and running, the speeds I get are bananas! Faster than my very strong WiFi in some cases. I know MANY people who bailed on ATT when the contract expired.

I've never had issues with AT&T, and most people I know don't either. Verizon lost my business when I used them before I was stationed overseas. They said, "Oh you're military, bring us your orders and we'll cancel your contract with fees." I did so, twice, and continued to get a bill in the mail for 8 months after I left the States. I refused to pay. Morons.
No experience with T-Mobile. Heard good things about the unlimited data. Not having LTE sucks though. 4G is not fast.

I think it's all area dependent.
I used AT&T for 4 years, and just couldn't get good reception in SoCal (Orange County). So many dead spots around Irvine, Costa Mesa, Lake Forest, etc. I was averaging like 4-5 dropped calls per day. It was getting to the point where I literally feared not being able to make an emergency call if I needed to. I switched to Verizon and never turned back. Since I switched to Verizon in 2010, I can count the amount of "dropped calls" I've had on one hand.

I guess one of the things i thought about is that T mobile doesn't get all the latest phones right? Usually it's at&t and verizon that get them first, no?

Research whether T-Mobile has towers where you live & work.

Have you looked at Sprint? I've been using Sprint for several years without issues. I travel across the US and Canada for work (30+ states and 3 provinces so far). My phone transfers over pretty seamlessly to an 'Extended Network' when no Sprint towers are available. I've developed a good amount of confidence in the network.

Sprint SUCKS in my area. Their customer services... oh what customer service. Sprint does not care about their customers. I was getting 5kbps on my phone on their so called Premium data plan. They best they could do is this,
well sir is shows that your towers in your area are 97 percent free. You are upgrade for a fee to see if it the problem with the phone. But the network is fine. Seriously!!!! Cost me less to cancel my plan with them then upgrade. T-mobile all the way. $20 bucks unlimited data. I also called in today, got the best customer server yet. I had a late fee of $5.00. Guy looked at my billing cycles and without and questions or any explanations said to me that they will wave the late fee and my bill will reflect this within 24 hours. T-Mobile in my area is great. Only service I know that you can still make a phone call with only 1 bar of reception. Data speeds are fast and you can make calls in parking structures underground. I have done this on many occasions. oh and as a note of reference, Verizon has the fastest data connection to date. They lead with their 4g LTE and have the largest network. Anyone who says otherwise has no idea what they are talking about. MY buddy with Verizon get 40 Mbps for his data. Spring, AT&T, or -T-Mobile can not get anywhere close to that.

AT&T in Raleigh with their 4G LTE gets north of 35 Mbps last time I was up there and it has been getting faster over the past few months.

Fuuuuuuuuuck Sprint.
When I just got out of grad school, Sprint was my first ever cell phone provider. Never got good reception in my area, and lots of dropped calls. Finally wanted to cancel, and it was like pulling teeth. The lady on the other end just would not take no for an answer. So I had to call the California Public Utilities Commission, and get a representative on a 3-way call to get everything cancelled under threat of them being fined to hell. Never would go through that again.

But just from my experience only, I have yet to be anywhere in the US that Verizon has not beat in data speeds.

Have you looked into going pre-paid with AT&T or using a MVNO? If you're not a heavy data user their $60 prepaid GoPhone plan is now unlimited talk, text, and 2 GB of data. Additional 1GB increments are available for $10 and you can use their LTE towers now too. If you already own a AT&T phone it should be very straightforward to cut over.
TMobile is still in the process of re-farming out their towers to LTE so your area may or may not have coverage. I would have gone with them, but T-Mobile has 0 coverage at my house, and at work it's spotty. Work is less of an issue since I have a desk phone but no coverage at home? And they don't have micro-cells like AT&T does. They have Wi-FI calling but you have to have a phone that supports it. |

They gave a discount for the next 6 months and I was able to use the corp discount so the difference now is about $40 a month. That's better than the $120. So we're going to stick with them for a few more months and take it from there. Honestly I'd rather not switch.

This.
ATT is great for where i am. I used to have TM back in HS.... never had service at school or my house. Cingular had service so we switched and never looked back I considered going to VZ, but the fact that I can't surf and talk killed it for me. I do that all the time, especially when I'm on long holds (which happens often), or if I'm looking up a place on yelp etc. If VZ could surf and talk, I would consider switching. I wonder if our bill is fair... about ~$280-290/month. unlimited talk/text. 6gb data. 3 iphones 2 regular phones.
