starting the insanity system tomorrow
about 1.5 yrs ago i was in the best shape of my life, was working out ~20 hrs a week, swimming over a mile at a time, etc. (though i was still eating like a horse)
anyway, things came up. i was busy, i moved, a lot of things changed. i've maintained somewhat with dieting (mainly controlling portion sizes), pushups, and walking, but definitely put on some flab and my skinny jeans don't feel so skinny anymore. woke up one morning (fell asleep in front of the tv) and the insanity infomercial was running. so i picked up the insanity workout videos (starting tomorrow), looks better than p90x and it fits perfectly since i'm on staycation. my form's fallen off a little but i'm still ok. insanity claims a new body in 2 months: based on where i'm starting and given that i've been through this before, i'm giving myself 1 month. tonight, i feast! |

Good luck! Definitely challenging, but you get results fast. I prefer Shaun T way more than Tony as well, he keeps me very focused.
Finished 2 rounds of those, 2 rounds of Insanity Asylum 1 and a round of Asylum 2. Those are great workout programs! |

Insanity's a great workout, just watch your knees! I dropped 25lbs on it at the end of last year, wife is doing round 2 now and has had similar results, good luck!

How's it coming along? I started doing Insanity in February when I developed Tennis Elbow. I was in my second round of P90X, week 6 at the time. Couldn't continue so I switched over.
I'm currently in my second last week of the workout cycle. I haven't lost much weight since my eating hasn't been that great in the last few months. I had lost 35-40 lbs in the last 18 months so it was harder for me to lose more weight. I have to say, that doing Insanity has improved my performance on the hockey rink. More so than doing P90X. However, P90X was better for my vanity LOL. Hope it is going well. You're probably into phase 2 now. It's a b*tch isn't it? My numbers in the fit test were pretty good when I started but I have actually seen some improvement in my numbers and how I feel when I do the fit test. I could probably fly through phase 1 now! Good luck. Look forward to hearing how it went. DrC

I read your experiece. In the past you spent a very good time in swimming and other. Eating is impportant for us.without eating we can't live but our eating should be balanced. you should take natural drinks to control you weight problem. This is good effort to adopt other experience. |

i personally don't know anyone who has tried insanity (aside from myself who did for a week), but i've known a lot of people who did p90x and none of them stuck with it after 1-2 cycles.
i'm having much more fun swimming and walking, and the results are gradual (but more sustainable imo). pretty cool that there's a pool at my parents' house and i'm the only one who swims. public pools/chlorine ftl. so while i didn't stick to the original plan, i would consider it a win for the larger goal (maintaining fitness, as a lifestyle) Last edited by amanda hor$t; 06-13-2013 at 01:14 AM.. |

great workout. I am an ex college lax player, 26 years old now and these videos still beat me up daily. Also forget buying them, you can download them via Torrent and the DL takes about 15 minutes...

P90X has some of that but tends to be more focused on working specific muscle groups. I have done both, and when I am doing a round I tend to mix them up. P90X for the muscle groups, and Insanity for the cardio, I don't do plyo as it is too hard on my knees. P90X also has a Yoga disc that will kick your ass... For me it is something I might do once or twice a year, I get bored easily so I can't continue to do them both, have to mix it up some. |

we did the suggested nutrition guide and lowered the calories by 500 as indicated to lose weight. I'm now doing the "maintain weight" thing and that's been working well
