our m3 in last years 24h race was much worse off than that and with just some effort with crow bars plus lots of duct tape and she was up and running. hell, drove better! less understeer! and lighter! lol

anyways, i think the car will be fine and you will not be able to tell any difference once you have it back. important thing is no one got hurt.

This is correct, but it's not the only reason for discrepancies in the insurance company's damage appraisal and the appraisal from the driver's shop of choice (assuming they are using different appraisers). I ran into this a few months ago. Both the insurance company and my shop agreed to the extent of the damage - what differed was the choice of parts for repair. The insurance company was only willing to pay for reconditioned parts, while my shop insisted on new. I took issue with the insurance company, but they stood their ground and would only pay for reconditioned pieces (note: they didn't say I could only repair my car with reconditioned pieces - I could use new if I wanted, but I would have to pay the difference).

Of course, I was collecting on the other driver's insurance, which may not be the OP's case. If he chooses more expensive parts (i.e. new, not reconditioned) to repair his car, his insurance carrier might happily cover that cost, but then the tab will be higher, and his premiums may go up more.

likely not totaled. if there's frame damage, the cost of repair may push it to that status. If no frame damage, I would just get that fixed and drive it until the day it dies. You'll get reemed on a resale due to it's accident history, so drive the nuts of it for the next 6 years.

I know...but I just found out today its not...

No frame damage, no engine mount damage, no mechanical damage.

the front bumper, right fender, right headlight and pulleys need to be replaced.

This is the info I have received.

With this info I am looking for an Amuse front bumper and looking to add the charger while everything is pulled apart.

Question now: "diminished value" aka the reduced value of the car now that it has been involved in an accident.

Almost there.

I am picking her up (hopefully) this friday.

I bought an Arkym front bumper and added a Velos EMS.

I wanted to go for the charger, but I am going to hold off.

My insurance covered everything including a rental so the body shop worked with me to get the parts that I needed in the budget that was set.

I am stopping by tomorrow to check on the car so I will keep you guys posted.
