Question G60 Interaction Bar Ambient Lighting US spec Question

In the ordering guide for US spec 5 series, 4UR (Interaction bar with Ambient Lighting) is listed as an option with no charge for a 530i. It says it will replace standard ZWL ambient lighting. Is 4UR standard in the US or do you have to separately order it? It isn’t an option to choose on the BMW US configuration site. I placed an order but this never came up.

I’d ask your dealer, they should be able to list out the vehicle order for you so you should be able to see if that’s included

I presume this is the feature where by the ambient lighting changes colour based upon function / events .

The product specialist at the Welt told me the i5 gets a different light bar than ICE 5er. The i5’s is the single wide light bar and the ICEs get thinner twin line light bar. Not sure what option codes are.

I asked my advisor as my order sheet didn’t have 4UR but did have ZWL. He didn’t know so he had me talk to a Genius. The genius said all 5 series have 4UR in the US even though it’s not on my order sheet. I asked him 2x so there wasn’t a misunderstanding.

Thanks. I will check that. In the meantime, on Monday I am going to call BMW corporate genius to confirm what they told me.

Did you get any answer on this?

How does it look like - 4UR? Earlier the SOP on 4UR was 11/23 now moved to 3/24.

This is in the latest ordering guide 11/02.

4UR Interaction Bar with Ambient Lighting NC NC
(SOP 03/24) (SOP 03/24)
4UR will delete STD or 100% equipment ZWL

ZWL Ambient Lighting STD STD

Hello BMW Series 5 community, I have a question: just got the diesel version of the 5, I just love it. However, the disel and petrol versions do not come with the interaction bar (ambiant lighting is just a soft one). This came as considerable disappointment considering that the car is fully loaded also with a carbon trim. Good to note that almost all the 5 series showcased in YouTube are about the i5 version, so my diesel one came below the expectations in that aspect as I only learned that only the electric version has an interaction bar when picking up my car. Do you think it is possible to retro fit the interaction bar?

Not sure for the retro fit. probably ask the dealer for the part#

but for 530 series, its part shortage and will be available shortly. see this thread.
