The negative display is not easy to read, but willing to deal with it for the improved appearance. It's huge however, GMT on a Hodinkee Horween strap here for reference.
Bigass watches are in fashion now. I wonder if they're just chasing a trend.

They've been in fashion for quite a while and the trend is starting to move back towards reasonable sizes. There's something fun and approachable about an oversized nylon style-piece like a G Shock versus the "look at my watch MF'er" of a 50mm U-boat or Hublot King Power...price being part of that equation.

Interesting collector/designer scene Casio has built and cultivated, I quite admire what they've done with an *ugly* plastic watch. Hard to be a snob with these things, I enjoy them. But then again I won't wear a swatch.

I have like 6 G-Shocks and wear them every day. They are great for bashing around which I do daily with my job. When I go out, I put a nice watch on. But I have never had one break or die on me.

I've got several G-Shocks, from a 5600 to a Solar/Atomic Riseman. My favorite by far is my GW200-MS Frogman. It's solar but not atomic, but keeps time very accurately even without radio sync. The face is kind of offset from the band which may look odd at first, but it help it wear really well and it almost makes it seem smaller than it really is. The Frogman doesn't have a lot of the features that some of the newer ones have, but I like it and wear it normally ahead of even my Breitling and Seikos.

This particular model you'd have to find pre-owned, but I believe there are several updated (and with updated prices) Frogman models available retail.
