I was in the MB dealership the other day, and there was a new CL63 on the lot with a 'sale' sticker in it. Price was discounted from $172k to $109k....made we wonder what the markup is on those things.

I never understood the pricing on the CL63. I mean, obviously the market dictates pricing, but I don't understand the draw to owning a $200k CL63 AMG when other, more prestigious options are available at that price point.

With the debut of the W204 C63, AMG finally had a car that deserved to be mentioned in the same breath as the M3. The LCI C63 even took down the E9X in some comparisons and it also produced some faster lap times at tracks like the 'ring. It's hard to describe the strides AMG has made in recent years on this forum without being labeled an AMG turncoat. But the fact is, that couldn't be further from the truth. I was exclusively a diehard BMW fan for years until I gave the LCI C63 a try. Now, I respect and enjoy both brands (M and AMG) equally. They each offer something unique. However, at the moment, I really like the direction AMG is going. The same goes for MB as well. MB has stopped trying to copy BMW. The brand is concentrating on formulating its own distinct identity.

I love both companies for what they do. They are both amazing companies and they never seem to disappoint and they both make choices for certain reasons. Nice car by the way! That thing is a beast! Can't wait to hear more about the 2015 C63's. Apparently they're going to have near 500hp. |

Only one AMG. Wish I had two, the current E63 is a beast. I'd gladly take an M5 too. Correct.

Seriously, that's not bad considering I moderate a MK6 GTI forum without even owning one, lol (wife took the GTI in the divorce).

Exactly. If I didn't love BMWs, I wouldn't participate here as frequently as I do.

someone said that you have respect for both sides. I pointed out that you are a active forum person/mod and you also own a AMG car. i thought the other benz was also AMG ( my mistake). point being you MUST have respect for both sides seeing how you are active with both BMWs and benzs. it was a positive comment

Props to you for still taking the time out for the community. A lot of people don't realize how much work moderating a forum of this size can be.
