x3 or x5
My wife is trading in her Prius to get an x5 or x3
If its an x5 it would probably be an 09 If it's a x3 an 11 or older We just had our first baby so she wants a BMW to. Any words of advice, she wants more space. |

2011 and above X3's have almost the exact same dimensions as the first X5. I'd take a look at an X3 first. Another thing to consider is the X3 will be a newer car and gas will be a little better as well. Just something to think about. I'd test drive both and see what's what.

Congrats on the baby! We were in the same boat 2 years ago and decided on getting the X3. We've been completely happy with it. Plenty of room and decent mileage. The X5 interior feels a bit more premium and the extra size is felt more in the back seats with the extra legroom. The cargo area is suprisingly quite similar, although with the X5 you get that cool bottom fold out tail gate. Go test drive both and bring your stroller and car seat to test out the storage space.

My wife has a 2008 X5, loves it! Also has the optional 3rd row seats which only fit small adults or children, but gold down and there's plenty of room for two 100 pound dogs!

X5, but do not get an 08', sorry to anybody with an 08' X5. I had an 08 and it had problem after problem. Was on the worst used cars to own list. In fact it was #1.

X5 diesel or nothing in BMW. X3 is too small. Almost everyone of my friend who's bought one has traded up for something larger. It really doesn't have that much useful space than a 3 series. We have a Subaru Impreza and space is about the same as well. If you're looking at the small SUV category, seriously take a look at the Acura RDX. Has much more standard options and lower price point. My mom bought one with 2WD and No tech package for $32,000. Don't get me wrong. I love the BMW brand, but once we added up all the options in the X3 for my mom, it was over $10k more than the RDX.

I love my E83 X3, plenty of room for a child and small dog. The cargo area is a lot bigger than in our E90 328i, drives very similar though. I have heard that X5s are a little bit pricier to maintain. However, if you are really concerned about space and are planning to give birth to a soccer team, I have recently seen people drive around in a huge Nissan van bigger than my house

most likely she will not be able to park x5 and maneuver it in parking lots as most people, it is huge. Never understood why these women drive large suvs, they all seem miserable |

Nice ride. I have a 2010 VW TDI and have thought of upgrading to a larger Diesel. Not sure if the premium price is worth the gas savings as Diesel is also more expensive.
