California Vacation Ideas(or better)
Wife and I are planning a week next month in California. Recommend me somewhere cool and chill to go that is not crazy expensive seeing how I just started a new venture. I was thinking Souther California staying on the beach but I love the mountains as well.
or anywhere in the us southwest flies. We go to Vegas and Colorado way to much. |

San Diego...America's Finest City! The world-famous Zoo, the Gaslamp Quarter, La Jolla, beaches, two hours to Palm Springs, minutes to Tijuana, the best apple pie in Julian (one hour east of San Diego), two hours to LA, 2.5 hours to Big Bear for skiing and snowboarding...

Excellent! Also consider the San Diego Zoo Safari Park which is in Escondido (45 minutes north of SD). I think you can purchase a Zoo/Safari Park package. I almost forgot about Legoland in Carlsbad. (Not just for kiddies..)

No way I'd ever go to Disneyland over Disneyworld.

If you were going solely for the park, yeah, I'd say World over Land, but give me LA/Orange County vs Orlando every time.
Depending on how relaxed you want to be, consider renting a house in the Laguna Beach or Dana Point area. I used to live in Laguna Beach and getting to both LA and San Diego is relatively easy (unless it's Friday afternoon). |

not me - everything I can ever want to see is in Disneyland - and it will only take 2 whole days to see/do damn near everything.
to see everything in DWorld, you'll need a week minimum.... plus, I'd rather walk around D-Land in 74 degree weather in May than to walk around DWorld in weather almost as hot as Houston... fuck all that. |

That, and the fact that DW is a little further from OP's destination of Cali.
Also, don't go to Laguna Beach. I saw that television show with those damn hippies from that wretched place. |

San Diego
Road trip up pch, Stop on Santa Barbara, Monterey, cross the golden gate, end up in Napa for some wine and/or Calistoga for a massage and/or mud bath Yosemite, not the best time if year for that Tahoe, one of my favorite spots |

You have to book Yosemite 6mo ahead if you want to stay in the park.
Most of that drive up PCH will block chucks when you're going through SoCal. It gets better once you're out of LA, otherwise it's just traffic. There's a TON to do in SoCal, but it's not going to be all that warm out here in a month... having said that, it's been a freakishly warm "Winter" this year. What's your budget? You want ocean or theme parks? Museums? .

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."
