For Father's Day this year, I got my dad and I a supercar driving experience at Autobahn Country Club. He's been eyeing the new C7 Stingray lately and is strongly considering getting one, so I figured what better way to "aid" the decision than to let him see what it's really capable of.

He'll drive the Vette for sure, but I can't decide what I want to drive. Any thoughts? I'm leaning towards the Ferrari because, well, it's a Ferrari. Already drove the base Gallardo a few years ago, so not terribly interested in that. SLS could be a real hoot. Curious about the GT-R because of all the hype, but I'm afraid it will feel rather boring.

And FYI, none of them will be manual trans.

Definitely go for the Ferrari.

I've driven the Gallardo, SLS and GT-R. Of those three, the GT-R is definitely the quickest. SLS suspension is non-existant, but sounds good.
Ferrari just feels more special, especially on the track.

If it were the 458, I would definitely pick that but I've done a supercar experience and the 458 is so much better than the F430. I thought the Lambo was better than the F430 but I'd love to try the SLS. How long do you have in the car?

F430 easily. Scuderia if possible but regular F430 is still a beast to drive, especially on a track.

Chose the F430. I've never driven a Ferrari and they sound absolutely glorious. It's a convertible, supposedly, which makes the noise even more enjoyable. :-)

Maybe next time they'll have the 458 (they do have one in the fleet, just not at this event).

They used to have a 599 in their fleet, which would've been awesome -- V12 power.

My impressions of the suspension on the SLS are vastly different than yours.

Then again I've driven the Black Series variant so that might have something to do with it.

Yes, the BS is a totally different machine (suspension wise) compared to the older SLS.
I drove one of the first, which were notorious for rough and unforgiving suspensions (it literally felt as though it was a solid suspension with NO springs or shocks). When Merc came out with the SLS vert they recalibrated the suspension and made it softer. They then made the same changes to the coupe, which made it a bit more user friendly.

That explains it. And that is definitely true regarding the first generation.

I did the 458 for me and the gallardo superleggeria for the wife.. if your a Disney employee you get half off the exotic drive at Disney speedway.
So i had my sister who is an employee but my tickets so i got 2 cars for the price of one.

I too drove the 458 at Disney as a grad gift to myself in 2012. The blip of the downshift was worth the price of admission alone. Good call on the Ferrari, you'll love it. Hopefully it'll be like the one at Disney where if you have people doing 30mph in a Lambo going "la dee da look at me I'm in a lamborghini" there is a passing zone and the instructor will allow you to blast by. How the f do you pay $400 to drive a supercar and not drive it like you stole it?

Driving both the Lambo an the F430 while in Italy... I wouldn't pick either again. Both are "ok".

The Merc is an insane ride comparitively, would love to take that for a spin.
