Porsche or Z???

Alright, my dad has finally given in and he wants a extra car to have some fun on the weekends. He wants a Porche, either a cayman or Boxster S. I like both of those cars dont get me wrong. I told him to go take a look at the z4 M. But he says maybe. Should my pops really consider looking at the Z? or just go for the porche. I brought up the Z because it starts at 50K. what do you guys think?

It goes like this. Cayman S > Z4M > Cayman If he can't afford the Cayman S then get the Z4M.

Skip the Boxster. Well, I would...I'm just not into Porsche verts...guess it's a subjective matter. If it's between a Cayman and a Z, it really all comes down to the looks and how hard your dad would actually push the cars. He's prbably not gonna notice much difference in the way of handling if he's just gonna cruise around in them. That's how the comparisons went atleast. Also, keep in mind that there are some serious discounts going on (have been going on for a while actually) for the Z4 M coupe/vert. Something like $7k off on most of em. Try searching for it.

If I had a choice, I'd take a Cayman S over an M Coupe, yet I'd take an M Coupe over a non-S Cayman.

Caymen has to much plastic.. Get a real porsche even a base carrera is better than any caymen.. Did I mention it looks better? If you do your homework you can get a good $10k off the carrera or lease one for around $1100 a month.

The 911 has just as much plastic. Are you one of those 911 fanboys that always say the boxter/caymem is not a real porsche? Don't get me wrong because I love 911's, but Porsche has always built cars other than the 911. I can see people saying that about a Cayenne, but I just don't see the argument for a caymen. Every time I read an article about the 911, they say it's great, but a caymen handles just as good or better for less $. That being said, if I had the money, i'd get an 911. If not, then a caymen s, caymen, z4 m, boxter s in that order.

If it is a daily driver then def get a Z4 (you can get 10+ K off the sticker right now for coupes)

If it is just a fun weekend driver then get a Porsche. They are not fun to drive in traffic but the handle a little better, not much though.

Personally I love my Z and it's not even an M.

get the cayman, which i hope is the cayman s and not just the regular cayman. if it is the regular cayman, you're better off with the Z4 M and damn i thought you were talking about a 350Z in the thread title....

The maintenance/repair bills on a Porsche are srs bsns... If that won't be a problem, I'd say go that route.

Cayman S. I have driven both... while the z4m might have a little more power I would take the cayman ANY day.
