Beat it how? Straight line performance? Is that the sole attribute that you pay attention to when considering a vehicle?

They're estimating the pricing at GBP 52K in the UK, compared to about GBP 50k for the M3, so the pricing looks pretty competitive. That might change once it comes to the US and Canada, but I don't think the spread is going to be that big.

Thats the only thing this forum's members pay attention to as far as the 335i goes, why would you expect any different?

Do you guys think that the guys over at //M are purposely under-engineering the M3 to make room for the CSL? I honestly don't think they're trying that hard...they should've included a larger displacement engine, bigger brakes (aren't they merely two-piston calipers up front?) and invested the money wasted in the CF roof into something else.

Don't think I hate the new M3. If anything, I love it. It looks hot as hell, is probably the most fun of big three, and can probably hold its own against the other two (maybe even take the lead?)...but it just seems like they could've done so much more. The engine is such a masterpiece...why didn't they make it bigger?

I'm sure it's just all of these initial reviews and whatnot, but it just seems like the new M3 is going too soft on us. That's NOT what the M3 should be about.

That car has no style. The M3 is so much more aggressive looking. M3 over that all day long.

I'm sure it's just all of these initial reviews and whatnot, but it just seems like the new M3 is going too soft on us. That's NOT what the M3 should be about.

I don't think they are holding back necessarily. What I believe BMW's focus to be is balance first and foremost, all while being as cost efficient as possible given the competition. At least that is my interpretation of interviews, products, etc. The power variable is the easiest part of the equation, but driving dynamics and overall balance isn't as easy to produce as it may seem from an ostensible point of view. That's why we generally prefer the BMW's driving characteristics over most other cars in the respective classes. No other manufacturer can quite get it "right", but they have no problem making power.

As for the engine.....well, in the interest of proper spacing between automotive products, it's only logical that the ///M5 and ///M6 received the bigger engine with the most power.

I don't believe the ///M to be soft at all, but rather, more refined. These arguments could have gone either way. Development is a two-way street; it's impossible to please everybody.

You're hilarious.

The E90 has a more aggresive styling than the C63?

Lol! Oookay.

the C63 AMG is so hot... I would buy that in a second if they made it in 6 M/T.
