Post The Best Luxury Car Buys Of The Year by FORBES

Not very impressive to see 3 Audi's and no BMW!!!
Not sure if BMW is planning on staying in the market with competition in the long run...

So a finance/lifestyle magazine's subjective opinion must means BMW is doomed?

I think not.

Maybe it's just me, but the fact of the matter is YES, although Forbes' opinion may not be in the radar as such...but don't underestimate the power of business/executive readers' point of view who read Forbes...and who by the way form the majority of marketshare of BMW drivers in that segment (executives and businessmen). And again, if you like BMW (like myself), a report as such wouldn't hurt, but my concern is in the long run... how did BMW change its image from the 60's/70's accelerating past M-B in the market...I'm just begining to think if BMW is not mixing up its vision/mission with niches that may lead to nowhere...
A couple of weeks back, we read the car & driver's review on M6 vs. RS7 with Audi at the top and now this...
again, one report may not matter that much, but its all the bits and pieces that add up...
I'm sure some of you don't share this point of view...but that's why we are all here to discuss these points right?!

I couldn't agree with you more buddy...but believe it or not, I HAVE seen people who look at Acura as a luxury car

If I have to look at those 10 cars, there are cars that worry me even more than Acura...

Hahaha, I saw that too and was like...., uhhhhh.

Also..., I know this is being stringent, but it does say Best Luxury Cars..., I see quite a few SUV's on there....,

Whoever made the write up needs to take some English 1010 courses at the local CC.

agreed...but my major concern was Audi mainly with 3 entries. Although there's a M-B there as well.

Best buys are essentially bargains. I doubt BMW or most people consider any BMW a bargain, nor will it impact their decision on cars.

Just curious, if most people consider Lexus to be a luxurious car line, why would Acura be excluded...? Isn't Infinity, Lexus and Acura on the same level?

Aren't those the luxury line made by Nissan, Toyota and Honda respectively?

I see no difference between those makes when it comes to technology, performance and luxury... only really noticeable difference would be pricing really, and not by much.

TSX is Honda Accord in the rest of the world. Acura only exists in the US. The Integra, RSX, a lot is just rebadged Hondas.

Ok, but who's on top?

And on top of that, go back 5 years or so when much of the extended model lineup started to become apparent and where was BMW then?

That is my point though. The all of the Infinitys, Lexus' and Acuras are rebadged Nissans, Toyotas and Hondas respectively so my question is how can Lexus be considered luxury and Acura not...?

"glorified" Toyota, Honda and Nissans will never qualify as luxury cars...
especially with crazy amount of recalls that has been happening around all these brands recently!!!

It's "INFINITI"

And yes this Forbes article makes zero sense.

Pretty ridiculous to not think Lexus as a luxury car just because they fall under a parent company that's not so "prestigious." I've sat in enough Lexus's to know they very much are helping set the bar of luxury from their service to the quality of the materials they use inside the vehicles. Acura I agree leaves a little bit to be desired but they are still nice as well.
