New 2015 Cadillac Escalade revealed!

Its beautiful. Its back to a masculine design and looks a lot like the 2nd generation that really made the Escalade a celebrity.

The back is hideous. The Cadillac designers need to purge their Batman fetish.

Are you referring to the taillights that are paying homeage to the 50's and 60's Cadillacs? Oh, ok

Thankfully those 50s and 60s cars never came in the shape of a shoebox. Horrible, just like all of the earlier ones.

I'm afraid I may. My damn X5 is not big enough. With a rear facing child seat behind the front passenger seat, the front seat is unusable. The seat back is straight up, and it is so far forward that my (small) wife's knees are pressed against the dash (absolutely no exaggeration).

My 3 year old is behind the drivers seat behind me (not do small) with no room for her feet.

We are going on a road trip next week. To make it possible in the X5, the 3 year old is in the 3rd row on the passenger side, the middle row 40% on the passenger side is folded down, the rear facing seat is in the middle of the third row. It is fucking stupid, but it should work.

Is this a joke?

Words cannot describe how ugly that is. I have to look at these on the roads for next 6-7 years...awful.

Can't believe the same designers did the ATS and XTS.

What is homeage? I know what homage is and that really pays respect to the 1960's Escalade well. I guess they should put 2 foot fins on the back and teal vinyl. Oh, Snarf!

Just curious what your daily/weekend commutes are (and the cargo that you need to carry) that would require such a huge 4x4?

Front looks pretty good, it's got a bit of a retro thing with a modern twist going on. I'm not a fan of the back at all.

Agreed, overall I give it a pass. The back is not great, but most suvs are not. There is only so much you can do with the shape of a toaster.

Not bad. At least it looks better than the New Denali and Tahoe, now those they destroyed.

Front looks like a GLK, rear looks like a Volvo 850 station wagon. It does not look better than the current one, which is a giant pile of poop in the looks (both inside and outside) department.

I agree with the above posters: there is no need for an SUV this big. Kids or not. My brother and I grew up in an Mk1 Golf. Never an issue.

I call shenanigans on this one. The GL and Suburban are the only SUVs that will fit three car seats across the middle seat and they definitely fit the RFCS without messing with passenger comfort in the front. Even a Grand Cherokee has inches of room between the RFCS and front passenger seat with my wife sitting comfortably. She's 5'5"ish.

Laws have changed. You're not allowed to leave the hospital with a newborn without a rear-facing car seat. Good luck getting that into an MK1 Golf - or an MKVI for that matter. I never thought I would be on this side of this argument but having just had our first, we quickly found out that our FX35 and S4 are both too small for life with a small child. We take a fair amount of road trips and my wife has to sit almost verticle in both cars. We are getting a Grand Cherokee for additional room.

Have you thought of a smaller one? We've fit one in our X1 and the 1er before that and my 5'3" wife still has room to leave her seat where it normally is. Hell, I've debated getting a BRZ for use with a rear facing seat and the dog too. I'm 6'2" and can't see ever needing/wanting something of this size.
