Keep us up to date, I've got a pretty solid background in sourcing parts for upgrade and restoration on old cars.

To date I've done a 67 Candyapple Red Mustang 289 K-code GTA (A = automatic), 66 Ermine White Corvette Convertible with L79 327 M20 4-speed, and a 67 Lynndale Blue Corvette Coupe with L71 427 and M20 4-speed.

So when you say it has a 302, is it a modern 5.0L such as that from a Fox body Mustang, or early (68 and on) 302? If so, is it a Windsor or Cleveland?

Get some pictures up when you can.

This is a bit off topic and I'm not trying to hijack your post, but I wanted to share because I'm drooling! I'm probably not as well off or established as you all, but my first car was a '72 Chevy El Camino. I rebuilt the 350 with my dad by hand, with an 'rv' cam in 1999. Had some body work done in 2004. Now that I'm a little bit better off, I'm starting to look at a frame up resto once I get back to the States. I'd offer more about my parts, but I'm obviously not a Ford guy! Much respect for the classic Mustangs though. Enjoy!

Brad335d, I may end up in or near GA in the next few years, what can you tell me about your shop?

The shop is my father's in Port Orange, FL. I did those cars when I lived down there. I'd like to get something in the future, but I live in the city and my two car garage is taken up with mine and my wife's cars. So I'll have to wait until I decide to move to the suburbs so I can have a nice detached workshop.

I was making a mistake when I asked about Windsor or Cleveland. That only applies to 351 engines and I was thinking of my Dad's old 69 Mach 1 when I was writing the earlier post.

The car looks good man, Torque Thrust D's it looks like for the wheels. Cars like what you have make excellent drivers. They're not numbers matching so you don't have to freak out every time you go to replace something that it's not going to be period correct or if you wanted to improve something that it's going to detract from the value of the car. I would absolutely love to get a car like yours and build it into a Pro Touring car. Mix the best of old and new and have a really fun driver with solid reliability and performance.

Dude El's are awesome cars. My Dad has a customer with 3 and they're all super clean cars. They're so light in the rear they make excellent cruise-in cars because you can light up the rears with even just mild power.

My first car was a 81 Monte Carlo. It however did not have a V8 but rather a 231ci V6 that made so little power it couldn't even turn a tire over on wet pavement. Bought that bad boy for $200 and it was in awesome condition from a older female customer of my Dad's. Best part was the back seat was like laying on an overstuffed sofa.
