Home Audio video experts enter please!
Hey guys,
Made a post a little while ago about getting things situated in my new home. I now have a new question. My house comes with two speakers recessed into the ceiling above my living room. The wires obviously go to my component closet but then obviously have nothing to hook up too. My question is (a loaded one) what ALL do I need to have my TV sounds go to those speakers as well? I am assuming a receiver of sorts but don't know what kind to get, what exactly I need, how to hook up etc... Help please!!! FYI: I have purchased a Niles Remote anywhere! kit, a Logitech uni remote and an HDMI splitter to have my bluray play in my living room as well as my master bedroom, in case any of that is relevant. Thanks again! |

Are you planning on adding more speakers? I just upgraded my AV receiver to a Marantz SR6008 and I could not be happier but what we recommend would depend entirely on how/if you want to expand your system.

Told you loaded question haha. We do not plan to add anything additional. We have a theater room upstairs that will be all decked out for movies and whatnot.

If your TV has an audio out, just connect that to the inputs on a cheap ~50w/2 receiver and connect that to those speakers. Ideally the TV will have a setting where it can adjust the audio out level so you don't have to mess with two remotes.
I think a budget of $75 and some ebay/monoprice shopping can easily accomplish this.

If you can post up the model # of your TV and approximate lengths, I can try to get you some part numbers.

Would something like this work?
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/am-fm-re...ver&cp=2&lp=12 I assume whatever I buy (forgive my ignorance on the subject) I insert the speaker wires into the back of the receiver and from there two im guessing RCA cables hook from there to the TV? |
