Official Subaru STI images!
Subaru has released official images of the JDM -spec Impreza STI ahead of its Tokyo Motor Show debut. Earlier this month, Subaru released a series of teaser images, but the latest round of photos allows for much more of the STI's details to be seen. Compared to the standard Impreza WRX, the STI has a much more aggressive look, set off by wide fender flares.
While Subaru is waiting until the Tokyo show for a full reveal of the STI's specifications, it did release some information. The JDM version will use a 2.0L twin-scroll turbo boxer four and will be mated to a six-speed manual transmission. Subaru failed to mention any power ratings, but it is believed that the powerplant will be good for 304 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. The STI will also come with Subaru's SI-DRIVE, Drivers Control Center Differential and Vehicle Dynamics Control. Expect more details after Subaru's official media release later this month. from http://www.leftlanenews.com/subaru-i...ti-future.html i'm just going to wait to see how it performs on the WRC the interior has a big improvement though! start button, sat nav and a bunch of more STI badges hahaha here's the rally car posted by tinobw Last edited by SpecC; 10-10-2007 at 10:45 PM.. |

It looks like an egg. Good from the front though. I have seen the new subaru imprezza. Why is it being released in wagon form first? Seems like it should be sedan first.

Subaru has decided to stop making the wagon version of the WRX because they have so many wagon selections around the same price as it is. And I think the sedan version is just going to be the sedan now. Hatchbacks rule the WRC, so Subaru will make one too in order to be competitive again

new WRX sedan and wagon are out (on the streets) already....the difference in this MY is that the STi version is ONLY available in wagon/hatch form and it has not yet been released.

It seems that this car was designed to appeal to larger market than the previous impreza.
Although it is not as exciting or appealing, such a style has it's benefits. It blends in more with common econo-box cars than the previous one, and does away with the 'boy-racer' image of the old model. Personally, that is a huge improvement as car enthusiasts are really being looked down on right now. |
