Cool M5 vs F430 ...

This is not a new article by any means, but I'd imagine most people haven't come across it (particularly in North America).

Ferrari...Owned.

The Ferrari is still a Ferrari, and the BMW is still a BMW at the end of the day.

Enough said.

The best thing is to have both, and to have an extremely hard decision to make every morning.

well, just depends what your plans for the day are;
going to the office then hanging out with the guys... M5
having sex with a new girl (or two) that night... Ferrari

No kidding. Besides...it's a Ferrari.

That's like all those Civic owners who have s'upped up their cars and claim they can out accelerate a 330i. Even if they could...who cares...it's still a Civic compared to a BMW.

In this case...who cares..it's a Ferrari. It's a sexy beast...in comparison the BMW looks like a Corolla.

But the writers are right...if it was my own money...I'd probably buy the M5 instead.

Road & Track tested the M5 & M6 back in February of 2006 and got 0-60 times of 4.1 seconds for both of them. F430 should be quicker than 4.4 seconds as well. It surely feels much faster than my M5

I'm sure you folks have seen the M5board.com race videos from Gustav @ Sweden. The F430 smoked almost everything pretty easily.

But the article was not about straight line.

Anyhow, doesn't change the *FACT* (yes, fact) that the F430 is the best damn sports car on the planet right now, full stop. ^_^

No. F430 isn't the best damn sports car on the planet right now. It isn't the fastest, nor the best handling, and though it does have a certain character, it can't compete with more pure sports cars that don't have it's bloat.

Then please do name an all around better performer than the F430, that can be tolerated on a day to day basis

Besides some of the super exotics like the Porsche Carrera GT and McLaren F1 how about the Corvette Z06, the Porsche GT2, and the Ford GT to name just a few.

Actually,of all those you just posted, I'd take an F430 over all any of 'em. It's just more useable from day to day (besides the Z06). I hear the Carrera GT is extremely brutal to drive, the Enzo can't be liveable from day to day, ditto to the F1, and the GT2 just doesn't interest me as much as the F430.

I'd have a tough time choosing between the F430 and the Ford GT though...

OOH! I'd take a Lambo LP640, a Veyron, or one of those Reventons instead .
