Registering just to vote is too much of a pain in the ass, sorry.
But if I did register and vote would have to go with Lilly, she looks a lot like the pit I used to have. Sorry again. |

Well, when you look at lists of fatal dog attacks by year in the United States, they are always dominated by "pit bulls and pit-mixes". Every year. So is it a generalization for someone to make a comment about any pit that they see on the street? Yea. Do I think it's a 'misinformed' or 'ridiculous' generalization? No. If If I'm walking my puppy and I see a stray pit, rottweiler or german shepherd wandering the street am I more likely to pick my puppy up and carry him away than if I see a lab, great dane or other random mix? Yea I am. Does all of this mean that they are bad dogs? No. I think that most of the problems occur because of owner fault. I do think that pits, along with german shepherds and rottweilers are more prone to aggressiveness if raised in an environment that promotes it versus practically any other breeds.

I just found a quote about a CDC study that I think was from a year or two ago:
"There were approximately 238 dog bite-related fatalities over the past 20 years. Approximately 25 breeds of dogs were involved in theses deaths; pit bulls and rottweilers were involved in over half of the reported deaths." I'm not trying to condemn the dogs; I have never owned one and I'm sure if I did I would think the same way that you do. I just wanted to point out a different perspective.

So are bull sharks just products of their environment? Are they aggressive because they are trained that way or is it part of their nature?

all I know is that my pitbulls are awesome and if they ever got aggressive with people, i'd feed them a hollow point right in their eye.
I've been breeding and raising pitbulls for 23 years and I have yet to get a bad one.... probably because "bad ones" are a product of their upbringing, not of the breed itself.... |

Great lookn dogs. Here's another one of my girl. She's short.
To me there is no more of a beautiful or misunderstood breed of dog.

I think pitbulls are easily trained badly, more so than any other dogs. But if you have a normal owner that takes his/her time to train and nurture then its all cool. The sad truth is that there's more bad owners than there are bad dogs.
