Mark Webber Leaving F1 to drive Porsche's LMP1 car in 2014 and Beyond
As reported in Motorsport.com and also BBC Sport:
http://www.motorsport.com/#!/f1/news...rsche-in-2014/ http://www.motorsport.com/lemans/new...s-for-porsche/ http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/formula1/23074108 "Jun.27 (GMM) Mark Webber is retiring from formula one at the end of the year in order to drive for Porsche's new Le Mans prototype programme in 2014 and beyond. The popular and outspoken 36-year-old Australian has driven for Red Bull since 2007, and has more than 200 grands prix under his belt, including nine wins. "I'm very much looking forward to this new challenge," Webber said in a statement. 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen is the favourite to replace Webber at Red Bull."

I hope so too. I honestly think it'll be better for him.

I really hope Kimi goes to Red Bull. It's been ages since we saw two great drivers in a winning team. With the noticeable exception of Button/Hamilton, lately it has always been a good driver and a somewhat lesser driver.

So Webbo got nothing to lose now.
No team orders, this is going to be interesting. But I'm sure he will be "professional".

Glad to hear this. Webber got screwed and I would have done the same if I were him. The Porsche LMP1 program will be a great opportunity for him.
I also hope that Kimi gets the Red Bull spot. I don't see him taking team orders too well. |

It'll be great! Two drivers that don't follow team orders, they'll take each other out and give other teams a chance to make things more interesting. F1 has been the "Red Bull Show" for too long IMO.

I am happy for Webbo and Porsche LMP1 team(s). It will be a great opportunity for them both.
It would be even better if Kimi left F1 and went to LMP1 too.
