Girlfriend in college?
Did you guys ever keep a steady girlfriend in college? Or did you stay single and get the "full college experience?". Just curious.

I dated a girl for 2 years in High school, and then I went to UC Santa Barbara. She stayed home in San Diego and went to UCSD. It worked for about a year, i'd come down every 2-3 weeks and see her for a day on the weekends. Other than that, it was skype or phone calls to stay in touch. The distance really bothered her, but I was okay with it. Start of my sophomore year she called things off. I think it is doable to make it worth, but both people have to really want it.
That being said, i've always just wanted a GF/Companion more than a hookup, so I never felt I was missing out. I still went out with my buddies and had lots of fun, just didn't focus on hitting on other girls since I had everything I wanted back home. Either way you can be happy, just don't have any regrets in whatever choice you make!

i was mostly single because i was too busy with school. and back then there were no hot girls on campus. it's cool though, if anyone i was remotely into back then actually took me seriously... let's just say it'd be shit now.

I had a girlfriend for soph-senior yr. If it's the right girl, why not? Mine wasn't but that didn't keep me from having a great time and it was nice having that steady tail.

I had a high school sweetheart going into college. Dated for most of high school. Broke up a month into college and she had another boyfriend. Then I dated a girl for 2 years (rebound girl) through freshman-sophmore. Broke up. Went out with another girl the last year of college until I met my wife now a year after college.
I had the most fun in college when I didn't actually have a girlfriend honestly. |

I had a gf 2-3 years in college, I liked it, but single life in college vs in a relationship life in college is very very different to say the least

I had a GF that I dated on and off my freshman year. She got pregnant with my first child during my last semester and I just dropped out to work full time. He was almost aborted. The day of the appointment we decided not to go. he's 17 now.

With AIDS you are dead in 4 years.
Kids....18 years...18 freaking years if you are lucky....you will have to drop out of university....and if you took out a student loan they don't care...they want their money! And by the time you are done paying off your student loans your kid will have crashed your car at least 4 times! Wrap it up! Date lots of girls all at the same time and you will be a very happy man! |

No girlfriend in college unless you buy into that meeting your college sweetheart and living happily ever after stuff. College is all about orgies and multiple partners
I would expect a comment like this from Balls, this is just dumb.. |

Dated a girl in college 2-3yrs. Things fizzled towards the end of our senior year, when our lease was up at our apartment we packed up and went our separate ways.

He's in university.....he should not be having kids...he should be working hard getting good grades having lots and lots of booty calls and figuring out who the hell he is....then he needs to graduate and get a nice paying job start paying back his loans and then think of having kids.
If he screws us at in his second year of school has kids......well.....in the good old days you may have done ok...but have you seen the price of education? And every job needs you to be educated? YEAH! HURTS! WRAP IT UP! AIDS KILLS IN 4 YEARS! UNPLANNED KIDS...will not let you die! |

My failure (turned success) story- I dated a girl in high school and we went to different schools on sports scholarships. After my freshman year I transferred to her school and subsequently dated for 3 more years.
On Christmas eve she broke up with me out of the blue. I was heart broken at the time, but ended up losing 40 pounds, finally enjoying college, and eventually got a very good job right out of school. She's working as an elementary school P.E. coach now.....it was shitty at the time, but it turned out to be the best decision (made for me) of my life. The best part of the story was about 3 months after we broke up. I had a house party one night. I went into my room and found her in my bed. She told me she had made a mistake and wanted to try things again. I laughed at her and kicked her ass out. A success story- My folks are high school sweet hearts. They've been married for 29 years now. However, even they broke up for a summer in college to date other people. Through my experience- I don't regret giving things a chance one bit, but you need to make sure she's really worth investing the best years of your life to be with. That usually means dating other people and seeing what else is out there. |

Same. Met my fiance during my first summer at college (7 years ago) and we've been together ever since.

Was married already when I went through school. No fun on the side for me. I was twice the age of most students by then anyway.

I had the same girlfriend for 3+ years while in college and after I graduated during her last semester she broke up with me to "experience college", fucking whore. What a waste of time and money, enjoy college be single and mingle, join a frat and smash as many drunk sorority bitches as possible and treat them like shit.
