USGP Ticket Presale Starts Today
Wow this seems really early for this, but the US Grand Prix presale has already started. Wasn't sure if you guys/gals knew this or not, but I wanted to share the information so that all of you know.
Here's a link to the presale page The code you need for the presale is CIRCUIT. Last year I had seats in Turn 12, it was GREAT. Had the chance to see HAM's pass on VET. But I would like to see the venue from another vantage point, so I opted for tickets over in Turn 3. Hope to see some of you there.

Yeah, I got the email and thought it was really early. But I'll just do GA again, which should be even better next year since not all of the GA areas were finished last year.

Try looking at San Marcos or San Antonio for hotels. The race is the same weekend as the big UT game, so hotels in Austin will be very expensive. Unless you don't care about spending the money of course. I also visited the track recently for Grand-AM and i can tell you that the facility is much better now. Traffic will probably be much better now too.

Funny thing about that, we took the shuttle on Fri last year, waited in line going and heading back and traffic seemed terrible. On Sat and Sun we drove out from downtown and it took less than 20 minutes each direction and we parked in one of the fields directly next to the track for $10 on Sat and $20 on Sun. I will be doing that again next year as it's far cheaper than official parking and took less time than the shuttles.
Fortunately we have a friend with a place in one of the high rises downtown, I'd forgotten that there was a UT game that weekend too, it's going to be nuts this year. |

We stayed in San Antonio last year, not a bad drive, especially with the 85 mph toll road. Weird to go by the highway patrol at 90 mph and not worry about it.
Much easier to find a room in San Antonio. |

We were in T12 too last year. How did you like the bleachers swaying back and forth? This year, and apparently the 13 subsequent years we will be in T15

I was at turn 5 last year. Had a great view of the chicanes, and could see across the track at the last 1/3 of the long straight and 3 of the other 4 turns there.
Had a great time, however from here it will be either main grandstand or nothing for me.

Am I reading this right? GA tix for the 3 days cost $181 but parking is $200? Really? I never thought I'd pay more for parking than I do to get into an event. Or am I reading this wrong?
And what's the code for? I didn't see where it asked for one except for the VIP tickets.

I was just there for the Grand Am weekend. The grass has grown in a lot more in the GA areas.

I am also in turn 15 this year. We are in the little corner section rather than the main turn 15 grandstand.
I'm assuming you got the PSL to get yourself into T15. Are you heading down for motoGP next month? I still haven't received my tickets for it.

It was only good for access to the tickets a couple hours early on the first day the tickets were available.

Just got my tickets as well. Turn 12 it is and I'm debating on staying at the HoJo in San Antonio. Any suggestions?
Also any suggestions in parking? I saw something for 60 bucks? What's that's all about? |

I got on site parking passes again, absurd money but it's nice knowing that I have a spot within easy walking distance.

Honestly, the stuff just adjacent to the track was great. As I said above, we paid $30 total for Sat and Sun and parked just to the SW of the track, maybe two city blocks from the road that runs down the western edge of the track. We got to the track about an hour before the F1 race and were still able to park in that front lot. Paying the silly price for FIA parking just doesn't make sense for me unless you're bringing your P1 or 918.
