anyone bring over a desktop computer on plane?

im leaving for college in 2 days and SADLY i dont have a laptop anymore (hdd failed, too lazy to get a replacement, etc etc)
so yea, is this possible on flight nowdays?
i have a fullsized ATX case with a handle built in on top btw

i don't think american airlines allow you to carry computers on by yourself. When i was bringing my macbook on the plane, they made me put that in a separate bucket so i'm not sure it's worth the hassle to carry it onto the plane. you could ship it with you on the plane and carry it home, but i wouldn't try to bring it on the plane by hand
