IS350: Shut Up About it Already

Seriously... all this dong measuring about the IS is getting to the point of absurdity. This is a BMW forum and BMWs are superior vehicles to the gussied up Toyota. If you don't agree with this statement, go to imagirlymanwholikeslexuscars.com and go blather on about the IS over there.

This is a BMW forum. But it's also a place for car enthusiasts. Go to any car forum and you will see the same thing. The TL, IS and G35 forums constantly have members comparing their cars to the competitors. There is nothing wrong with owning a different brand besides BMW. You buy what you like. There is no need to bash other Car makes. If it wasn't for competition, do you think BMW will ever improve their cars? Every car has their plus and minus. Not one car will ever be perfect.

If you don't like the comparisons on a car forum, than I guess the best way to avoid it is to not go to any car forums.

I enjoy reading the comparisons against other direct competitors. Especially since the E90 wins them all

It's interesting to claim to be the best without being willing to consider the competition.

I was considering the IS350 before I bought my 330i and I came to this site many times when I was trying to make up my mind. If you're the best, direct comparisons can only help your cause, right? It certainly worked for me.

What are we, in BMW bubble or something?

I don't mind to help somebody who undecided. It was about E90 or IS for myself just a month ago.

I'm with Zen. All of these Lexus threads only serve to give that overpriced POS more credit than it deserves.

Members are welcome to discuss whatever topics that they wish. This is not a dictatorship. Value other members' opinions, give your own opinion, but you do NOT tell other members what they should do or how they should think. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

That being said, in regards to the Lexus:
The e90 is not the only car on the market; it has competition and it always will. As long as there is competition there will be comparisons and regardless of what you think of the other cars this is not an "e90 talk only" forum. Feel free to participate in a thread by giving your opinion of the competition-good or bad, but you can't criticize other members for doing so. If you don't have anything to contribute to the forum, don't bother posting!

I just can't stand people who think they know everything and can tell other people what they should think. I hate forums like that where if you don't to whatever car the forum is about, you are harassed and/or banned.

Discussing the competition is great... to a point.

Every day it seems, there is yet another IS thread. The Lexus has been discussed over and over and over again. The horse is dead and its carcus has been beaten to a pulp. Do we really need to go over the differences between the two cars again?

Well then perhaps a better compaint would be to ask a mod to merge some of the numerous IS250/350 threads.
