911 GT3
let me start by saying that the 911 GT3 may be my favorite car on the road.
would totally destroy the 335 on a track. And I thought on the highway too. But I was wrong. ran against one on the highway the other day from ~70-120 a couple times. I assumed I'd get pulled, but was curious as to how badly. I have a turbo tuner, not a procede, but still pulled 1-3 car lengths each time. I thought he might not have been really giving it it's all the first time, so I kept going back for more, but with the same results each time. The last time I let him go in front of me so I could hear his exhaust better, and he was definitely in it hard. Sounds beautiful. But I actually had to back off because I was pulling hard enough I'd have hit him. think it's possible? or was it just a carrera with a body kit, wheels, springs wing and gt3 badges? The Porsches have to go above 120mph before it starts pulling on the 335i.
P.S. and take this to the track, please!

me either, that's why I was curious. even a carrera s should lay waste to a 335, piggybacked or not. but it definitely wasn't the case. seemed more like I was racing a cayman....

I think the GT3 should be faster... Maybe a Carrera S? The GT3 kit seems to be popular for them. Still great kill if it was a Carrera S though.

had to be a CS, I saw a C6 Z06 run a GT3 on the highway. They took off and they seemed to stay with each other...

Must of been a fake GT3 then, either that or he wasn't racing.....those cars are good for 118mph traps BONE stock through the 1/4 mile. A 335i is NO match for a GT3 at ANY speed. Sorry bro.....
I would most likely have gotten pulled on the highway in my C5 Z06.....and I'm fairly certain you would have NOTHIN' for my Z06. |

GT3 would kill a 335i. Period.

i think Porsche owners like to mess with people because one time i was driving along and this guy in a cayenne turbo s is trying really hard to get me to race him, the whole time i know im gona lose but eventually i just give in and gun it i slowly pull him and am about a fender ahead and we lift at about 80ish, then he gives me a thumbs up while laughing and drives off

didn't know how popular the kits were or weren't - that's what I think it was. I've never actually seen a GT3 around in person, so I don't have a good enough point of reference to know if it was a fake or not, but I thought they were faster than this.... don't get me wrong, it was fast and I didn't walk it bad, but I would have thought it would trounce me. haven't run a carrera so I don't have a point of reference to say "yeah, it was one of those". But I'm guessing that was the case

how would your friend be able to see what the guy in the other car's foot was doing?
that's the thing with street racing, the guy may have been giving it his all or he may have given it just enough gas to let you slightly win to give you an ego stroke unless the other guy is someone you know, nobody has any idea about what's really going on in the other car and that's just one reason why street racing is a poor judgment of automotive performance I'm not saying your car's not faster than a GT3, it may very well be faster, I have no idea... but on the other side of the coin, only the GT3 driver can verify if he was at 100% or 80% throttle |
