Is this normal:
When I press the DTC button, it lights up "DTC" toward the top, then again in big letters where "Check OK" would normally light up, and then the ! within the triangle.

I don't remember it doing this before... I remember it just lighting up DTC once in the smaller letters (nothing in the "Check OK" space and no exclamation mark.

I noticed one of the loaners I had did this. I think that's how it is with the latest software.

The DTC button are DTC( traction control) and DSC (stability control). Default mode is all on.

Quick press turns off DTC, "it lights up "DTC" toward the top"

long press( 7 seconds) turns off DTC and also DSC, "the ! within the triangle" or caution sign is up

i had a 2011 loaner and the dtc system was different

Quick press on mine lights up DTC toward the top and in the center with the "! within the triangle"

Long press does that weird tribal circle with in the triangle toward the top and the center.

Is this indicative of latest software?

I believe so, The little triangle is only telling you something is wrong/caution. DTC off is something "bad" to some people lol.
