Dream job at BMW!
I'm 16 and I was searching for a summer job so I decided to write an email to my local BMW dealer without knowing if they needed new employees. The following day, I received a call and I got the job!
I just finished my first day and I'm really happy with that job! I wash cars all day long and I get the chance to drive those cars from the parking lot to the garage. In one day, I drove Z4, 330i, X5 4.4, 530i, 760i and many more, it's like a dream for me! So if you're searching a summer job, contact your local dealer, you never know! Trust me it's really gratifying to work for BMW! Just wanted to share this little part of my life to show you that BMW are not only building good cars, they're also encouraging the local kid and I think that's really nice from them! I hope to be a BMW owner in the future, but for now, at least, I'm a BMW employee |

Congrats...now I just need to know what's involved at the dealer when they offer to wash my car for me. Do they have a touchless car wash? Do you hand dry it? What do you guys do?

haha, i did the same thing. I am only 22, and I am a part time service analyst for my BMW dealership! I was just shopping on BMWUSA and for shits and giggles I clicked on careers. I saw how convenient it would be to be, so I applied. I got the job of jobs, earning my BMW the old fashion way!
props to you guys btw for arming with the info to impress the hiring manager! Thank you so much members of e90post, for giving me info 20 year veterans don't even know!

*The washing process : First, I use a product against insects that are glued to the front bumper, then I put acid on the wheels, then, I rinse the wheels and during that time, the product against the insect do his work. When I'm done with the wheels, I rinse the antibug product and sprinkle the entire car at the same time, after that, I wash it with a glove, I dry it with a special clothe (we call it chamois in french...don't know what it is in english) and finally I put armor all on the tire!
Oh and I forgot the inside sweeper! I would say it's not a big wash like you can do before a photoshoot, but if you keep your car relatively clean (what I mean by that is you don't wait months before removing the insects on you bumper) it'll be mint after the ''fast and effective'' BMW wash. ___________________________________ And I work for a dealership in canada, at ste-julie, quebec *My first language is french so my english isn't perfect... |

the acid will ruin the finish on aftermarket rims without the gloss finish, trust me I found out the hard way with my bronze volks on my WRX, which left a soapy like residue that doesn't come off.

I started as a porter (that's your job title), making $8/hour, now I make much more than that as a tech.
My boss started as a porter, and is now the Service Manager. It's a good place to start, gives you basic knowledge of the product and a respect for the cars. |

I went to the career signup for shits and giggles, but when it came time to write a cover letter and resume I was just like, well F that. Not that they had any good IT positions open here in the US anyway. Starting a corporate software company here anyway.
