Just figured i would share some pics i took while in Oahu last week. Bought a B&W circular polarizer before i went so i was experimenting with that filter a bit.

Anyway enjoy!

Those are actually just panoramic shots. I used my Canon 17-55 F2.8 and took 3 shots then PS them together.

Very nice - I like the rainbow over Pearl Harbor. You can just see a double rainbow there.

The rainbow one is cool, but you should cropped out some things in the top-right of the frame, and straightened the horizon.

I like the last one, minus the metal barrier on the bottom-right.

Horizon is off on many. Don't know why that bothers me so much. Great pics though!

Yes, I got dizzy.

Fix those horizons and you've got some mightly nice pix.

I'd also correct the barrel distortion on those archetectural pix. It works on the beach scene, but curved buildings don't usually work unless you've got a really odd perspective, like lying on your back in the middle of them.

Great stuff. As I was looking at them, I kept telling myself, "I will go back, I will go back, I will go back, I will go back."

Thanks for sharing.

I went in January 2010 and highly recommend going in the winter, particularly to the North Shore where the surf was incredible and world class surfers were still there.

After the December surfing contests are over in December, the crowds leave and you have access to all of the beaches. I was able to park 100-feet from the Bonsai Pipeline, walk to the beach and take this picture:

Dave is right - I was there last July on my honeymoon. The north shore is cool year round but the waves are killer with the winter swells.

pics look good. did you hit up lanikai beach at all? that was the day i forgot to bring my camera - totally should've, its like the most scenic beach ever.

I spent two summers during College on Oahu. I should have never left the second time. Biggest mistake I ever made was leaving mid-August and coming back home to start law school. Ugh.
