ipod docks?
in the market for a good ipod dock went to best buy and saw the dr dre beat box and that thing is nuts. I know people don't like monster products but i think they did a good job on this one IMO. i can get it for cheaper too because my gf sister works there, but anyone recommend anything else? didn't like the bose system not enough bass for my music preference which is hip hop or R&B

have you used the beat box? it actually got really good reviews. I plugged in my ipod into and was impressed. I had the beats by dre headphones and didn't care for them but i think they did their hw on this product.

Bose would be my pick, they're overpriced but the quality is confirmed after 5 decades+ of service. There's almost always a better choice if you look for it, the most advertised products doesn't mean they're the best.

Kicker has one that's about the same as Dre's too if you want to look at them. Heavy bass. http://www.kicker.com/ik501

Just ordered an Onkyo CS-545 along with a Yamaha YSTSW216BL subwoofer for use in the office. I have not received it yet to give you my personal opinion but the reviews are really good everywhere.

Man this has been so difficult. First you goto amazon, search youtube, blogs, forums, etc.. there is no best in category. I have been looking actively at this as well. I purchased the bose sounddock for myself about two years ago its still running fine, only gripe is it doesnt work if you have a case on your iphone but w/e. I paid like 300 for it at the time, but im looking something for my girl, and i dont see anything better unless you get the soundlink which is the wireless version of it kinda like the jambox.
Otherwise you have the jbl on stage ones, logitech portable ones, etc. I haven't seen the beats one, il look into it, there headphones are overpriced for quallity but they are the best in catg in terms of looks, design, etc.. I wish apple made one. I just want something that looks decent and has great sound for a nice price. Looks like i'll buy another bose if i can't find anything... I'm trying to stay away from the ihomes

If you have an ipod touch, ever thought of just using a bluetooth adapter? That is if you already have an existing system. That way you don't have to dock your ipod and you can remotely change your music. You can be sitting on your couch while switching from itunes, pandora to spotify. You can even watch video while the sound is streaming through your system.

I have the SoundDock Portable by Bose and its amazing. It is a little more expensive but so much worth it. On top of beeing portable (bring it around the pool, when I work on the car, car meets etc...) it offers amazing bass and sound clarity for its size. Pretty much anywhere you look its got amazing reviews too and the battery is good for at least 6 hours +...
I really love mine, would buy another one in a hearth beat and everybody who listents to it is pretty much convinced as well. |

One of the main reasons I liked it. Besides the fact that did away with all fancy features, knobs and what not to spend the money where it counts : quality parts and components to get the best sound out of such small unit. It only plays a single CD or iPod, 40W. output with a subwoofer out option .....Works perfect for me and my need for having something small, clean and great sounding system at work using my iPod.
